Answer:	It does work on a longboard, but you need more product than this supplies. Not enough fabric depending on the area to repair....only 2" square. You may need more. It does work great....repaired our longboard with fiberglass repair kit years ago.
Question:	Would this "polyester"-based resin be okay to repair fiberglass on fulcrum of a diving board or would I be better off spending 10x more on "epoxy
Answer:	The real answer would be what you want to accomplish. Structure repair, or cosmetic? I personally would use resin designed for maritime use. Check the data sheet for the 422 to be sure it has some elasticity. Additionally, 422 is primarily for automotive designed to get its UV protection via paint or an opaque gelcoat. This stuff is great and I use it but if not protected it turns yellow and brittle. My "go to" composite repair for composite structural repairs is carbon fiber and epoxy.
Question:	How much is there in total
Answer:	Just under 30oz total between resin and hardener. That's about 2 pints or 1quart. This is enough to complete approx 40 sq ft. At 10 mil thickness depending on the form of fiberglass and saturation. When mixed and applied it reminds me of wood or white glue being spread into fiberglass mat. It may be a little thinner than that because it soaks into fiberglass but it is paintable on most surfaces without running.

Answer:	Hate to say, I have not opened the pkg yet, however, I believe there would be enough..

Answer:	Possibly. It is almost as strong as the original fiberglass. It would depend on what you have to drill and cut to secure the hinge. I would probably give it a try.

Answer:	It’s hard to estimate the amount of resin that’s needed. But you might start at least with 2 kits and order as needed

WEST SYSTEM Epoxy is excellent for structural bonding and fillets. It can be easily thickened with a number of fillers to modify consistency and strength.

There are two types of structural bonding that can be done with epoxy.

TWO-STEP BONDING is the preferred method for most situations because it promotes maximum epoxy penetration into the bonding surface and prevents epoxy-starved joints.

SINGLE-STEP BONDING is appropriate when joints will have minimal loads and excess epoxy absorption into porous surfaces is not a problem. In both cases, epoxy bonds best when it is worked into the surface with a roller or brush.

Coating, Laminating & Clear Finishing

COATING AND LAMINATING are popular uses of WEST SYSTEM Epoxy. Epoxy wets out fiberglass cloth, protecting the substrate while letting its beauty shine through. We recommend WEST SYSTEM 105 Resin with blush-free, water-clear 207 Special Clear Hardener for bright finishes and clear coats.

COATING involves rolling the epoxy onto a surface with a foam roller, applying it with a brush, or spreading the epoxy over the surfaces with a plastic spreader. .

There are two methods for laminating with fiberglass and epoxy.

THE DRY METHOD refers to placing the cloth over a dry surface, wetting the cloth with epoxy and spreading the epoxy over the cloth, smoothing it as you go.

THE WET METHOD involves applying the cloth to an epoxy-coated surface after the wet-out coat becomes tacky, which helps it cling to vertical or overhead surfaces. This method makes it more difficult to position the cloth, so the dry method is the preferred, especially when using with thinner cloth.

Clear Casting & Pouring

CASTING AND POURING are best done with WEST SYSTEM 105 Resin and 207 Special Clear Hardener.

AVOIDING UNCONTROLLED EXOTHERM is important, as this heat reaction can quickly spoil the casting.

Epoxy cures by exothermic (heat) reaction. That heat must be kept under control when when creating a thick casting (greater than ¼”). For thick castings, add epoxy in multiple layers . When the first pour is tacky like the back of masking tape, a second pour can be made. When the epoxy cures enough to become tacky, it means the previous layer has begun to cool down and will not contribute heat to the next layer. Adding another layer at this stage allows you to skip any surface prep.

If the poured epoxy casting cures past the tacky stage, allow the epoxy to finish curing then sand ot dull and clean the surface before applying the next epoxy layer. This will ensure good adhesion between layers.

Answer:	You should be able to. First clean and sand the area that needs repair. Cut the cloth to size leaving about 2” around damaged area. Mix resin apply to repair area. Put cloth over area. Then spread resin over cloth. Let dry. Light sand the edges.

Answer:	I opened the package and the actual dimensions are: ~25" by ~47" = ~8.1 square feet. The edges are frayed a bit.The package is labeled 8 square feet. The package does not give unfolded dimensions. Other packages could be different. This measurement is for Security Engineering only.

Question:	Can this resin be used for making fuel tanks? Smoothon sells a resin they claim will work but im looking for an alternative at a better price
Answer:	i think it will. What kind of fuel? Haven't tried it on E10 or E85, but appears to work on E0 (implying it would work on AvGas.) Have NO idea how it would react to Bunker or light diesel.
Question:	Can this adhere to concrete to seal
Answer:	I would assume that it would adhere and seal concrete, but if the concrete is to be exposed to UV light(sunlight), it will need a UV inhibiting coating or the resin will deteriorate over time. I'm using it on a wooden canoe and will be coating with UV rated varnish to protect as recommended. If interior use as on a concrete countertop it will probably do a great job as is.
Question:	If it says that it takes 3-5 days to cure then will it be tacky until then
Answer:	NO. Tacky for mebbe something short of an hour --- ok, you can still dent it with a finger nail for about 24 hours, but it's hard after that --- but still fragile to abusive handling for about a week.
Question:	Will this bond to abs plastic from a 3D printer
Answer:	If you're bonding the ABS to something else, it'll do as well as almost anything else, if the surfaces are prepped properly (with ABS, roughen the surface a little with sandpaper, clean with soap+H2O, rinse with distilled H2O, handle only with clean gloves). If you're bonding ABS to ABS, a cheaper and stronger solution is "chemical welding" if the surfaces are mate closely (brush acetone onto both surfaces then press them together for 10-30min) or "ABS glue" if they don't (make it by dissolving slivered/ground/shredded ABS scrap in acetone until it has at least a honey-like consistency).

Answer:	You can but it’s not crystal clear. It builds up in my mixing cup over time and has a yellow color to it when thick like that.

Answer:	The mixed epoxy is syrup like. It Wil tend to sag & or run on a vertical surface if applied to thickly. I tried brushing, rolling and spraying for the final few layers of exoxy
Question:	About how many square ft. (plywood) would this product cover
Answer:	I can't tell you about plywood because I used it on red cedar and cherry wood. I covered 120 Sq. feet over fiberglass over cedar which is very absorbent. There are two methods for laminating with fiberglass and epoxy.

THE DRY METHOD refers to placing the cloth over a dry surface, wetting the cloth with epoxy and spreading the epoxy over the cloth, smoothing it as you go.

THE WET METHOD involves applying the cloth to an epoxy-coated surface after the wet-out coat becomes tacky, which helps it cling to vertical or overhead surfaces. This method makes it more difficult to position the cloth, so the dry method is the preferred, especially when using with thinner cloth.

Clear Casting & Pouring

CASTING AND POURING are best done with WEST SYSTEM 105 Resin and 207 Special Clear Hardener.

AVOIDING UNCONTROLLED EXOTHERM is important, as this heat reaction can quickly spoil the casting.

Epoxy cures by exothermic (heat) reaction. That heat must be kept under control when when creating a thick casting (greater than ¼”). For thick castings, add epoxy in multiple layers . When the first pour is tacky like the back of masking tape, a second pour can be made. When the epoxy cures enough to become tacky, it means the previous layer has begun to cool down and will not contribute heat to the next layer. Adding another layer at this stage allows you to skip any surface prep.

If the poured epoxy casting cures past the tacky stage, allow the epoxy to finish curing then sand ot dull and clean the surface before applying the next epoxy layer. This will ensure good adhesion between layers.

Answer:	Yes. I used it on a huge crack in the bottom of rum in my camper and so far so good. No leaks!

Answer:	I used it on two different spots and still have quite a bit left over considering it's a two-part process to mix up

Answer:	It worked well on a fiberglass tub. It may work in a pool as well but I'm not sure about exposure to higher levels of chlorine or sunlight.

Answer:	I used this to cover a scratch in my new bath tub. It's been 2 months and there are no signs of flaking off.

Question:	What tint or pigment is recommended to make this epoxy translucent red? I plan to fill a design cut out of an approximately 1" thick table top
Answer:	The best tints I've found are a brand called 'Transtint Dyes'. They have an extensive range of colors. They're available on Amazon and many other websites. I got mine at a local Woodcraft store, where they are slightly less expensive. I've never tried to mix a translucent color but my guess would be that the amount you meter into the epoxy would affect the level of translucency.
Question:	Is this safe to use in small basement shop w/ furnace, pilot light, etc. and semi-poor ventilation
Answer:	There is little to no odor. No volatile fumes. I use it often in a small basement with an oil furnace.
Question:	What's the difference between this product and West System (strength and durability
Answer:	I use them both for base coats on furniture I make. I have noticed No difference btw/ the two products as far a strength and durability. I feel like the total boat brand creates more heat during the setting process, but doesn't seem to affect the final results in any way. I also feel like the total boat brand pumps are superior to the west systems ones. They don't leak and are cleaner than the west systems.
Question:	Is this resin effected by UV light? Will it yellow over time with exposure to sun

Question:	How well does this stuff work on delamintion on the front of a travel trailer between the fiber glass and plywood behind the fiberglass
Answer:	I have a sailboat that has fiberglass with a plywood core and I think it would work well if you can find a way to inject the 105 In adequate amounts so that it spreads out and then to compress the fiberglass against the plywood until it cures. If you drill holes in the fiberglass to inject the epoxy, I would use small pieces of fiberglass cloth saturated with epoxy to cover the holes when you are through. Then you can sand and paint without a dimple where you drilled the holes. If you can pull off the trim and pull the fiberglass away from the plywood, then you may want to consider tacking a layer of fiberglass cloth to the plywood that you can saturate before you put it back together. I don’t know the temperature where you are, so I would look at a West System chart to find out whether to use fast cure or slow cure depending on the temperature. Good Luck delamination issues can be trying.
Question:	Is there are weight to weight ratio between 105 Resin and 205 Hardener so do not have to measure by volume
Answer:	FIVE-PART RESIN TO ONE-PART HARDENER RATIO: Mix 205 Fast Epoxy Hardener with 105 Epoxy Resin in a five-part resin to one-part hardener ratio weight or volume
Question:	Can this be used to repair decks
Answer:	Yes, I have used this product to repair rot on decks. I would scoop out the rot, let it dry completely and coat the area with full strength epoxy. As a second step if the area is large I would use a powdered additive and make a putty like filler. work clean as cured epoxy if tough to remove.....even sanding can be tough. Remember, cured epoxy degrades in sunlight so it should be painted or stained with a solid stain.
Question:	What's the shelf life once the canister's have been opened
Answer:	I have been using West Epoxy for years and have never had a batch go bad. The shelf life on an individual unit is unknown to me, but I have gone at least three years on a single quart. The hardener changes color from clear to brownish over time, however, it seems to remain viable. When the product is cold it becomes too viscous for the pumps in which case I place the container in warm water for a few minutes to restore the proper .liquidity, being mindful that if you warm it up too much it will speed up the cure time.
