Question:	What version is the board
Answer:	The newest version of the board is 1.1.5, it does not come with the printer though. Mine came with 1.1.4 which is very similar to the 1.1.3. Creality Sells the 1.1.5 separately right now as the Creality v1.1.5 Silent Main Board. It is $50 bucks and you might find it cheaper but it is a worthwhile upgrade. It has newer stepper drivers that make the stepper motors virtually silent. I can't hear them anymore only the fans now. The board also has thermal runaway enabled and has a boot loader preinstalled so if you wanted to switch to Vanilla Marlin or the TH3D software you could do so very easily. Installing this board and the TH3D software also made adding a BL Touch kit easy.

Question:	What is the physical footprint of this unit
Answer:	The actual base footprint itself requires a flat 12" x 12" surface, however certain parts such as the display panel overhang requiring a bit more space. A roughly 16" wide by about 20" deep space should be about right, although you will want to make sure both the back and front have an additional few inches to spare as the bed does move back and forth during operation. I mount mine on top of a 16" x 18" patio paver block for support and stability. I place the paver block over some dense foam that is cut about 1" in from the block edge (14" x 16"). This gives the printer a platform that helps contribute mass to absorb vibrations as well as offer a bid of noise reduction cause by sound transmission through the base. Placed a few inches from the back wall it also ensures the printer travel area remains clear. There is also YouTube video on using this technique if interested (not mine but I came across it after I came up with the same idea separately).

Answer:	It does come with a very old version of Cura. The lastest version of Cura is what I am using. Just download it from https://ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-cura-software/list. If all you are doing is downloading models and printing this is all you need. If you want to make your own 3D models that complicates things. There are many, many 3d modeling programs and which one to use is a very personal choice and each takes time to learn to use. Blender is free, Sketch-up is also I think. But there are commercial programs that can cost up to a couple of thousand to use. Zbrush, Studio Max, and others. Question:	Is there a reason it uses 2 different size tubes? The 4.0/2.0 is standard, but for some reason the printer uses a 2.0/2.5 as the long tube

Answer:	You can take it off but it will leave the glue on and it is a long process to remove.

Answer:	The main differences between the X-Max and X-Plus are the build volumes (Max= 300x250x300mm vs Plus= 270x200x200mm) and the touch screen (Max=5" vs Plus= 4.3"). They both can print the same materials, including Carbon Fiber, Polycarbonate, PC/ABS, & Nylon using the Hi-Temp print head that has a hardened steel nozzle to prevent wear when using abrasive filaments. Question:	How does this printer compare with the prusa i3 mk3? they are at the same price point but i would have to wait several weeks for the prusa
Answer:	The guy that sits next to me at work got the same Prusa kit. He feels like the QIDI X-Plus may out perform his. Also, my build capacity is a bit larger than his. He likes the PEI surface on the Prusa. My only mild complaint is having to exchange extruders for the over 250C range, but I think I get smoother prints with my low temp extruder that he does with the general purpose extruder on the Prusa. Also, he regrets not having an enclosure like mine has. We compare prints all day long, so after he spent an entire day and night building his & I was up and running in 10 minutes, I want to buy another one! I also got mine in 2 days & I have almost immediate answers from support 24/7, no matter how trivial. They are amazing! It took a couple of weeks to get the Prusa. He was so jealous!

Answer:	The printer it’s easy to set up. However spare parts are hard to find.
Question:	Do you have to use Hatchbox Filament
Answer:	You do not. I've got 3 rolls of FilaCube, 1 roll of Overture, Sunlu, AMOLEN, and ERYONE, and 2 rolls of DURAMIC as well as a pack of sample PLA. I prefer FilaCube out of what I've bought so far with Overture being a close second. The roll that came with the printer is pretty good to get you started.
Question:	if the printer is able to print up to 160 mm high why does provided software allow only up to 150 mm
Answer:	the Z axis may go up 160mm, but that 10mm helps with clearance of the nozzle/Head to it can move around at the end of the print.
Question:	Can the filament holder be used inside with a normal spool of filament? dont want to damage any parts while moving
Answer:	There was an internal filament holder, but not anymore! I just got it on May 11, 2020. There is no filament holder on the left side like there used to be. They removed it. There is no bracket or any trace of the prior filament holder inside the current X-Maker.

Question:	How far does the resin go? we will use this mainly for printing tabletop miniatures for d&d. so
Answer:	I also got mine for D&D and wargaming miniature printing. The 250ml starting resin lasts quite a bit for that type of work, I've printed over a dozen figures (28mm, D&D 5E 'medium' size rating) and still have just about half the bottle left. The photon slicer doesn't have any options for hollowing a model so larger creatures (ogres, giants, dragons) will consume exponentially more resin as it prints them solid. Manually adding hollow spaces in a third party modelling program would fix that though is a bit of a pain.
Question:	Do you need to have a UV Lamp to cure the finished product after printing
Answer:	Maybe not a lamp, but a larger source of UV light is pretty much required to completely harden the resin. Otherwise the printed part will remain relatively soft and fragile until it cures. I personally bought a cheap $15-20 UV flashlight and cure my prints with it after I clean them off with some rubbing alcohol. But if you already have the printer and need to cure a printed part, a minute or two in direct sunlight works just fine.
Question:	What's the difference between the Orange & Blue glass
Answer:	Recent order came with orange covers. The debate is blue does nothing to protect the print and resin from UV light. Kind of a mute point, as you can simply cover the unit with a bath towel while in use or not in use. Don't cover the air vents though. My printer sits in a window sill, covered with towel, and 3 weeks later, the resin is still the same viscosity and prints phenomenaly on a daily basis. Once you get the machine settings dialed in for your resin/models, it really is a set and forget thing. Clean up is. Or nearly as bad as users claim. It requires such minimal effort, you would have to be lazy as hell, to think resin printing is too messy, or too much work. It does require a solid station for clean up, and curing, to achieve failproof results. Figure you will spend $100-150 extra on these items, after the purchase of printer. These items include, two small sealed cleaning tanks, 91-99% IPA, Ultrasonic cleaner (jewelry cleaner), and some sort of UV curing setup (nail curing stations). Pack of shop paper towels, and some nitrile gloves. All items can be found right here on Amazon.

Answer:	Yes, this is exactly what I am using the printer for, small board game minis and components. Just be aware that its almost, but not quite plud-and-play. You will need to experiment and tinker a little bit to get everything working like it should. Once you get some good settings and proper supports this printer cant be beat for the price.

Answer:	The version of Cura that comes on the SD card with the printer is a bit dated. However, you can download UtliMaker Cura free and tweak a few settings (looking at the file in SD:/Software and USB Driver/CURA/Reference Data/Ender 3.ini) you can get it rocking. Printer settings: Select Creality CR-10 like the instructions say, change the X (width, Y(depth) and Z(Height) as show in the instructions. Choose "Marlin" as the G-code flavor. The firmware is Marlin (which is based on Reprap) if you do some G-code magic it will tell you this. Recommended settings: Layer Height: .15 (higher setting for lower quality, you start to see the lines and it bonds less) !Enable Retraction! Retraction Distance: 8.0mm Retraction Speed, Retraction Retract Speed, Retraction Prime Speed all set to: 80mm/s Retraction Extra Prime amount 8mm(to the 3rd) Retraction Minimum Travel: 0.2mm Print Temp: will vary by filament but I use 231C with Polylite PETG, 82C bed temp, 100%fan. Speed being 46mm/s and works great! The rest of the settings are mostly preference. If you're using it for educational or non-profit reasons, then AutoDesk (makers of AutoCAD) make something called Fusion 3D which is simply amazing. Question:	Having problems with extruder about half-way through each of the first two projects. Advice
Answer:	First make sure you have proper heat. PLA I run at 198C. ABS 245C. Next make sure you have PTFE tube is all the way down to the bottom of the print head. PTFE tube goes about an inch or so down into the print head. If it is not fully in could cause heat creep melting filiment to soon clogging before it gets to the nozzle.

Resume Print

When attempting some larger prints, even a 3-second power outage could spell disaster for a model already 10 hours or more into a longer print. The Ender 3 comes with a state of the art control board which, in the event of an unexpected power outage or surge, will remember the last recorded position of the extruder. Once power is restored, the control board will automatically restart where the print left off before the loss of power. You can sleep easy while your Ender 3 works hard.

POM Triangle-Slot Wheels

Creality changed the consumer-grade 3D printer market with the introduction of the much improved POM Triangle-Slot wheel design. Previously, printers used smooth metal rods and linear bearings which, during use, were much louder due to the metal on metal sliding. Our POM wheels are made of engineering thermoplastic which is rated as great for use in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability. These wheels nearly silently guide the moving parts along the aluminum extrusion frame.

Safety Paired With Performance

The Ender 3's power supply is a high quality and safety oriented component that was hand selected for its reliability. This power supply has two safety fuses built into the unit. These internal and external fuses serve to protect all of the valuable electronics and components from any potential catastrophic power surge or electrical discharge while the machine is plugged into the outlet. The Ender 3 power supply can heat the hotbed to over 90* C in just 5 minutes or less, with a full operating range of up to 115* C which opens the door to many types of experimental or exotic filaments that may require higher temperatures for printing.

Design

Popular free to download slicing software such as Cura will divide or "slice" the 3D model into thin horizontal layers. A large multitude of previously designed 3D models are readily available on various internet websites for free. The software then creates a code that your printer can read and understand. Basically a set of instructions for the hardware in the printer. Save this "Gcode" file to a microSD card like a normal file. Many profiles are already available for use with the Ender 3 through Cura.

Ready

Upload the file to your printer via the microSD card. Ensure that the building surface or "hotbed" is level with the nozzle or "hotend" and start the print. The Ender 3 will automatically read the code in the file you selected and start extruding molten plastic filament onto the printing surface.

Printing

Watch as the printer automatically prints the layers on top of each other, one after another with incredible accuracy. The margin of error in the Ender 3 is a minuscule .1 mm in both the X and Y axis, meaning that any errors in the printing process will be almost undetectable to the naked eye.

Complete

Once the printer has finished following the instructions of the Gcode uploaded earlier, it will cease operation and your finished model will be ready to remove from the build surface. Remove the model from the hotbed and use as desired. This process is so simple, even children can be taught and understand the process and technology. Great for introducing kids to "Fun"ctional technology and processes.
