Question:	What version is the board
Answer:	The newest version of the board is 1.1.5, it does not come with the printer though. Mine came with 1.1.4 which is very similar to the 1.1.3. Creality Sells the 1.1.5 separately right now as the Creality v1.1.5 Silent Main Board. It is $50 bucks and you might find it cheaper but it is a worthwhile upgrade. It has newer stepper drivers that make the stepper motors virtually silent. I can't hear them anymore only the fans now. The board also has thermal runaway enabled and has a boot loader preinstalled so if you wanted to switch to Vanilla Marlin or the TH3D software you could do so very easily. Installing this board and the TH3D software also made adding a BL Touch kit easy.

Question:	What is the physical footprint of this unit
Answer:	The actual base footprint itself requires a flat 12" x 12" surface, however certain parts such as the display panel overhang requiring a bit more space. A roughly 16" wide by about 20" deep space should be about right, although you will want to make sure both the back and front have an additional few inches to spare as the bed does move back and forth during operation. I mount mine on top of a 16" x 18" patio paver block for support and stability. I place the paver block over some dense foam that is cut about 1" in from the block edge (14" x 16"). This gives the printer a platform that helps contribute mass to absorb vibrations as well as offer a bid of noise reduction cause by sound transmission through the base. Placed a few inches from the back wall it also ensures the printer travel area remains clear. There is also YouTube video on using this technique if interested (not mine but I came across it after I came up with the same idea separately).
Question:	Does it come with any needed software? If so - what kind
Answer:	It does come with a very old version of Cura. The lastest version of Cura is what I am using. Just download it from https://ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-cura-software/list. If all you are doing is downloading models and printing this is all you need. If you want to make your own 3D models that complicates things. There are many, many 3d modeling programs and which one to use is a very personal choice and each takes time to learn to use. Blender is free, Sketch-up is also I think. But there are commercial programs that can cost up to a couple of thousand to use. Zbrush, Studio Max, and others. Question:	Does this printer support Dissolvable Filament used for support
Answer:	The software provided gives an option to load PVA which is a dissolvable filament. While I haven't tried it, many reviews also indicate that the reason for the dual extruder is to allow for dissolvable filaments when printing supports for complex structures.
Question:	Can i use octopi or astroprint? people on fb say no b/c usb port is only for flash drives not for pcs or other devices. xpro owners, please verify
Answer:	While the newer model of this printer does not have a USB port capable of serial communication, you can attach a Raspberry Pi to the motherboard's UART header and then use Octopi to send gcode wirelessly to the printer. You will need a UART to USB serial adapter. I also used a usb step down voltage converter (24 volt to 5 volt) to power the Pi directly from the printer's power supply. There is one set of available 24 volt outputs on the power supply. I then mounted the Pi next to the motherboard with velcro strips and put everything back together. Works great.

Answer:	7"x10" is no go unless you print in 2 parts and glue together.4"x7" is possible in one go on this machine but your molds will give you chocolate that shows all the layers of plastic.Also polycarbonate prints will likely leech PBA into the chocolate like crazy.I recommend vacuum forming for food molds.Look up leaftechllc dot com. That guy can make vacuum molds for you for hobby prices.
Question:	Can anyone reccomment a 3D scanner? What are the things to look for in a 3D scanner? I'm looking to scan items maybe about 6" or more in size
Answer:	3D Systems sells a tethered hand scanner for about $400. It works well, if you have a systems requirement appropriate PC and don't rotate the scanner clockwise/counterwise while scanning - will lose lock on the object if you do so. Will also lose lock if you move in closer than 15 inches to the object. The slower you scan, the better the resolution, right up to fabric texture. They also make a version for an iPad.

Question:	Looking as a Christmas present...what other accessories should I get (platform stickers, removal tool, etc)? What brand of filament do you like
Answer:	The printer come with a removal too and a repair kit . So maybe more platform sticker would be good . Also I personally use matterhackers filament, bit more expensive but the quality is definitely worth it
Question:	I would like to print in a very fine dimensions, is this printer capable? Also can I use it with apple products
Answer:	Straight answer is yes - however, your definition is subjective! I'm printing small parts 1/2" x 1/4" x 1/4" with transverse holes through them and been very impressed at the smoothness of the final product. There is a QiDi X-One print review vid on YT that shows the quality. If you then want a totally smooth surface, place the printed components in a covered bucket with a rag soaked in acetone. Ensure the parts do not touch the rag. Leave for an hour and the acetone vapor will melt the ribbed surface smooth to achieve a close to glass finish!Enjoy!

Answer:	No. But I am not sure trusting a print to a wireless connection is a good idea. Unless said printer can buffer the entire g-code.I only print with the SD card. I don't even trust a wired connection.

Answer:	It is pretty much on spec. The printer is a tank. But it runs like one too. Great printer. I haven't had any issues with it, except one minor nozzle clog that took 10 minutes to resolve. Nozzle clogs are to be expected with almost any printer.

Answer:	I think octopi is one of them

Answer:	You're really constrained by your max temperature which is around 260 to 275 C. Functionally, I'd keep it below 250 to avoid degrading the PTFE tubing. That temperature will allow you to print most of the common materials like petg and abs on top of what is listed.
Question:	Is the printer quiet? how does the noise level compare to other 3d printers like the prusa
Answer:	I have one of these and honestly its quieter then my CR10. I measured the sound level and it was between 49-51 decibels which is the equivalent of a quiet office and that was when it was printing and its stock no upgrades to the fans or drivers this printer is nice.

Answer:	Hi John O. We can have it shipped from Singapore in about 30 - 45 days upon confirmation of order. The reason for this is because we ensure that all products shipping out are of the highest quality.
Question:	Does anyone know the maximum print speed on this unit? I can't find it anywhere
Answer:	3D Printers will attempt to print as fast as you tell them too. However the faster you print, usually the worse the quality. Once you pass a certain speed, the circuits in the servos won't be able to keep up, and you'll have motor skipping, prints that offset and fail, and if kept up long enough, stepper motor damage. For this machine I like to use 50mm/s; I'm sure you could push 80mm/s with the right settings. I'd cap it at 120mm/s, and even at that speed I doubt you'll get much a print, just some messy extruded plastic.
Question:	Can this printer's two extruders extrude at the same time to print two same objects to save the printing time? i saw bibo 3d printer on amazon has it
Answer:	No, this printer's two extruders can only print one by one. Question:	Can anyone compare this to the FlashForge 3d Printer Creator Pro? Can you load the Sailfish firmware on it
Answer:	Aside from some very minor design changes, this printer is identical to the Creator pro, with the exception of 2 things. The FlashForge comes with a print bed adhesive mat that works very well with both PLA and ABS. The QiDi comes with a roll of blue tape. Second, the current FlashForge model has a board with a larger 2560 atmega chip. The chip on the QiDi is the standard smaller chip. This difference does not effect performance. It simply allows the FlashForge to store larger firmware files. I should note that there are currently no firmware files that require the larger chip. In some ways, I prefer the QiDi to the FlashForge. While the FlashForge comes with closed styrene sides, the Qidi has open sides with acrylic panels that screw in. The benefit is that if you work primarily with PLA, you can leave the acrylic panels off and have access from both sides. If you close the sides, with the panels, they still let more light in as they are clear plastic. Last, the FlashForge spool holders only work with filament spools that have a large 2-1/8" hole in them. The Qidi comes with spool holders that are only 1-1/8" in diameter and work with spools with smaller holes such as the Hatchbox filaments. Do NOT try to flash this board, you will damage it. I learned that the hard way.

Question:	Does it stop if the filament runs out and wait for user to load new filament
Answer:	The printer currently does not have such function. So if the filament runs out, there will be no prompts or stop printing. Please load new filament directly to print.
Question:	Can a Filament Detector be added by user to the Xmax
Answer:	Because the machine has automemory...on power outages, I built my own filament detector. It serves two purposes: 1) It will detect the end of a filament at the sensor (basically a mechanical switch), and trip a relay which shuts down the machine; and 2) It cuts the filament in the case of a reel bind which then does (1) above. (this is done by a bend that pulls into a blade when the force is enough). Yes, it's a kludge. But when you are 10, 15, 22+ hours into a print (often overnight) and are not baby sitting it, this method has been a plastic and time saver. I am sure there are better ways, but this was a quick and dirty project after I had a spool bind up. While I normally use higher quality manufacturers, binding can and does occur, especially if the last person to swap out a roll wasn't careful and let the end loop under a wind. Those of you who have printed enough, know exactly what I am talking about.
Question:	Does this printer have filters for fumes
Answer:	There is a foam filter element over the cabinet fans. This does little more than filter the air blown into the build chamber, and is really unnecessary, for all intents and purposes. Consider it a dust filter for the inside of the printer. It has no impact on any fumes or particulates in the air escaping the printer during use..
Question:	Can it automaticlly stop if the filament runs out like bibo 3d printer
Answer:	No, it cannot. However, there is a pause and resume function, so you can replace/change filament mid-print, you just have to detect the correct time (or predict it in gcode) when the filament will be close to running out.

Question:	Is the qidi 3d yellow banner removable? i understand branding, but it's a bit of an eyesore
Answer:	You can take it off but it will leave the glue on and it is a long process to remove.
Question:	Is the only difference between x-plus and max the bed size? i noticed the max doesn't list carbon printing - is that feature not available there
Answer:	The main differences between the X-Max and X-Plus are the build volumes (Max= 300x250x300mm vs Plus= 270x200x200mm) and the touch screen (Max=5" vs Plus= 4.3"). They both can print the same materials, including Carbon Fiber, Polycarbonate, PC/ABS, & Nylon using the Hi-Temp print head that has a hardened steel nozzle to prevent wear when using abrasive filaments. Question:	Is this a dual extruder printer like bibo 3d printer
Answer:	No, it is a single extruder. The additional extruder they include or send at customer request is an upgraded single extruder module.
Question:	How does this printer compare with the prusa i3 mk3? they are at the same price point but i would have to wait several weeks for the prusa
Answer:	The guy that sits next to me at work got the same Prusa kit. He feels like the QIDI X-Plus may out perform his. Also, my build capacity is a bit larger than his. He likes the PEI surface on the Prusa. My only mild complaint is having to exchange extruders for the over 250C range, but I think I get smoother prints with my low temp extruder that he does with the general purpose extruder on the Prusa. Also, he regrets not having an enclosure like mine has. We compare prints all day long, so after he spent an entire day and night building his & I was up and running in 10 minutes, I want to buy another one! I also got mine in 2 days & I have almost immediate answers from support 24/7, no matter how trivial. They are amazing! It took a couple of weeks to get the Prusa. He was so jealous!

Question:	Will this work with .obj files
Answer:	Yes. The Dremel 3D software is compatible with both .OBJ and .STL files.
Question:	Does it use a Proprietary filament or can it use any standard 1.75 PLA purchased from Amazon
Answer:	According to Dremel -> The Dremel 3D Idea Builder was designed and optimized for use Dremel PLA filament. Other filament may cause damage to the machine and will void the warranty.That being said because the filament by Dremel was not available at the time I did my review and I ran out of the original dremel filament I did buy replacement filament by 3D Solutech (1.75 PLA 2.2lbs spool) and will confirm it works. The spool does not "lock" into the printer, however it does fit in the spool grooves and still rotates and feeds into the print head with no issues. Just know that going non-dremel brand you may lose your warranty. You could if you wanted to wind filmant onto the dremel spool and get it to "sit/lock" correctly if you are concerned about it. For me it works perfect without locking it in and placing it in the spool groove at the bottom of the printer.
Question:	what can't the 3d printer make
Answer:	Puppies. Unless you are talking about small plastic puppies. Then it can do that. Real puppies though, not at all
Question:	Is it possible to print a copy of this Dremel 3d printer so I could then reurn the original printer to Amazon and just use the printed printer
Answer:	Yes, but dont stop there... you can create copies with the copies. After only a few generations you will have thousands of printers and can retire rich!

Answer:	The printer it’s easy to set up. However spare parts are hard to find.
Question:	Do you have to use Hatchbox Filament
Answer:	You do not. I've got 3 rolls of FilaCube, 1 roll of Overture, Sunlu, AMOLEN, and ERYONE, and 2 rolls of DURAMIC as well as a pack of sample PLA. I prefer FilaCube out of what I've bought so far with Overture being a close second. The roll that came with the printer is pretty good to get you started.
Question:	if the printer is able to print up to 160 mm high why does provided software allow only up to 150 mm
Answer:	the Z axis may go up 160mm, but that 10mm helps with clearance of the nozzle/Head to it can move around at the end of the print.
Question:	Can the filament holder be used inside with a normal spool of filament? dont want to damage any parts while moving
Answer:	There was an internal filament holder, but not anymore! I just got it on May 11, 2020. There is no filament holder on the left side like there used to be. They removed it. There is no bracket or any trace of the prior filament holder inside the current X-Maker.

Question:	Is the Dreamer windows compatible
Answer:	Yes, 100%. The software that comes with it is made for Windows. I've used it on Windows 7, 8 and 10 with no issues. You can also purchase more powerful software later on which really takes advantage of the features (though I'd recommend using the easy included software until you get use to things).
Question:	How loud is this printer when it is working? Can you use it in the house or does it make too much noise? Or makes a mess around you
Answer:	I don't have a decimeter. However, it is not loud. I use it in my house. It has some fans that cycle on and off during the print. Those fans are the loudest part and I would compare it to the volume level of a laser printer in action or maybe a microwave oven. If leave the room you are printing in, you probably won't be able to hear it at all.It is not messy and there is only a hint of a plastic smell occasionally. If you are right in front of it when the cooloing fans come on you 'might' smell it then. Not imposing at all. Overall, it is very friendly to an indoor house-type environment. In fact, I would probably not put it into a garage or another non-climates controlled place. Mostly to keep it dust free and somewhat humidity controlled.
Question:	Does this printer handle flexible filament
Answer:	Most FDM 3D Printers will need to make some minor modifications before using flexible filament such as NinjaFlex; so Flashforge Dreamer will also need to perform such modifications. This is due to the fact that the flexible filament tends to buckle really easily when the push gear is grabbing the filament and pushing it toward the heated nozzle. Once the filament starts to buckle, it can go under the gears instead of being pushed to the nozzle and start to get jam.The necessary modifications needed is to reduce the air gap distance between when the filament comes off the push gear and the entrance to the nozzle. Fortunately, Mr Baron Williams has already done that for the Flashforge Dreamer printer and uploaded the 3D parts onto Thingiverse for free downloads at: www.thingiverse.com/thing:43115. The part is best if it is printed using black ABS material. Once modified, the printer can then use flexible filaments as well as the standard ABS and PLA. I hope this answers your question.

Answer:	I could not tell you the differences between Creator and Dreamer. I can only tell you that after a few months with my Dreamer I am absolutely 100% satisfied with the quality of the prints, how easy it is to use it and the great quality of the machine. I will definitely recommend the Flashforge Dreamer to anyone looking for a reliable machine.
