Question:	It looks like a steal gear turning on a aluminium arm. I there a washer or something to protect the arm from the gear
Answer:	If you mean the tension arm, then yes, but it's not even moving much. If you mean the extruder gear from the motor (not included) then no. But it's point of contact is against the feeded filament. You probably don't need this part, per se, if you have your filament feeding nearly straight, such as from an external filament holder, but I would still recommend it. It's absolutely necessary if using the filament from an angle, such as from the top as the ender 3 originally has it mounted. I chewed through the cheap plastic one they provided within weeks. I've been running with this part for about 2 years without issue.
Question:	gear won't move as it isn't attached to the motor shaft, and there isn't a set screw included to attach the gear to the drive shaft. How to attach
Answer:	Apparently, the ender 3 pro upgraded to an engine model with a press fit type gear (or third party resellers are upgrading bits; mine ender 3 pro came from a reseller and was obviously either used or had parts swapped - I got like $250 worth of free bits preinstalled). You will not be able to remove this without destroying the motor. The solution (I hope, because I have the same problem) is to replace the extrusion motor with the older type, which will apparently cost $10-$25 here on Amazon. You want an ungeared 42-40, and Creality sells a full set of replacement motors here on Amazon for less than $30. I got halfway through replacing this very extruder unit when I discovered the problem

Answer:	It will not be compatible out of the box. You would need to recompile the firmware and change the steps per mm for the extruder. You need to make sure the drive Gea diameter is the same as your monoprice extruder if you don't want to change the firmware.

Answer:	Mine came with the silver threaded bolt that the idler gear with the bearings in it ride against. It will quickly destroy the bearings! Return it!!!

Some customers encountered gear wear problems. The solution is:

✔️Had to change the extruder e-steps from 100 to 139

Because the filament is forced to be centered in both drive gear grooves, the idler drive gear (the one not attached to the motor) is positioned on it's shaft by the motor drive dear. So, to center the idler drive gear properly, my suggestion for setting the unit up is as follows:

1) Assemble everything but do not lock the motor drive gear to the shaft.

2) Using a couple pieces of paper, shim the idler drive gear in the center of its bracket.

3) Clamp a piece of filament in the drive grooves and turn the motor a few turns. This should locate the motor drive gear in the correct position.

4) Lock the motor drive gear to the shaft, remove the paper shims, and you should be good to go.

Question:	Does this printer support Dissolvable Filament used for support
Answer:	The software provided gives an option to load PVA which is a dissolvable filament. While I haven't tried it, many reviews also indicate that the reason for the dual extruder is to allow for dissolvable filaments when printing supports for complex structures.
Question:	Can i use octopi or astroprint? people on fb say no b/c usb port is only for flash drives not for pcs or other devices. xpro owners, please verify
Answer:	While the newer model of this printer does not have a USB port capable of serial communication, you can attach a Raspberry Pi to the motherboard's UART header and then use Octopi to send gcode wirelessly to the printer. You will need a UART to USB serial adapter. I also used a usb step down voltage converter (24 volt to 5 volt) to power the Pi directly from the printer's power supply. There is one set of available 24 volt outputs on the power supply. I then mounted the Pi next to the motherboard with velcro strips and put everything back together. Works great.

Answer:	It is best if you use mixed colors. Not using one color can lead to clogs. Bi-color prints are wasteful, but blended colors are optimal for this printer.

Question:	Will it run support material along with pla and or abs for models that have to have support material
Answer:	The simple answer is yes. The in depth is: it's not easy. it takes a lot of dialing in on your slicer settings and mess. Another option is to get this and upgrade the hot end to be 2 in 2 out instead of 2 in 1 out, which is fairly simple but requires soldering things into the newer motherboards.
Question:	Can you use different kinds of filament for this? I.e. carbon fiber, wood, silk
Answer:	Don't know about carbon fiber, buy it will work with silk and wood both of which are PLA filaments. It will also work with PVA, PETG, TPU, and ABS.

Answer:	Yes, the glass bed is remove-able.This permits totally smooth-bottomed prints and is highly reliable for sticking certain plastic types down during printing. You can also take the printed object down easily after you remove the glass bed from printer. If it is hard to remove the prints from print bed, maybe glue is applied too much in the print area. You can let the prints and glass be in the water, as our glue is soluble in water, and it is very easy to remove the print from glass. Question:	Has anyone had an issue with the 24 volt draw? My current printer is 12 volt and the elctriv in my house is on fuses
Answer:	Not sure what you mean but the title of the device on their website is: HICTOP 24V D3 Hero Dual Independent Extruder IDEX 3D printer. The 24V is a positive selling point. Most older technology printers are 12V which mostly refers to the voltage supplied to the Hotbed Build-plate. The more Voltage and Current = more Power supplied, which means hotter temps for different Filaments. So yes the printer will draw more Current from the wall. But this is a positive thing.

Answer:	The latest firmware can be found here at the HICTOP website hic3dprinter [dot] com/pages/firmware Search for "HICTOP D3 hero". A new firmware update has been posted as of April 2020. There are videos available there that will show you how to upgrade. Be aware that you will need an empty micro SD card and to open the bottom of the printer to complete the upgrade of the LCD screen, which is done separately from the main printer firmware. You will need a Windows PC connected via USB to complete the printer portion of the firmware upgrade.

Question:	I hear a lot about dual color printing. How do you chose where the colors print in your model
Answer:	In your model you actually create 2 models. 1 is printed as one color, and you chose another color for the other model. These are merged and then you print. So if you want the eyes white, you separate them with Blender, Fusion 360 or another program. It is a separate model. You merge them both and selct the extruder you want to print which color.

Question:	Can this printer use TPU filament
Answer:	They say that it is and it may well be compatible hardware, but the wiring harness is different. The order of the wires, wire colors (they say the brown wire should be the first wire. There is no brown wire...). The connector for the harness doesn't fit the connector on the CR-10 V2 so you have to pull the connector off of the daughter board to hook it up. I went through the whole process of watching numerous videos and wiring it the way they said, and it never worked. After downloading the firmware and trying to run it, I thought I burned up my printer's daughter board. Fortunately I didn't. I pulled everything off and reinstalled the original firmware, and reordered the correct kit from Creality to ship from China for deliver some time in October. Also, the bracket pictured is not for the V2. I had to print a bracket to attach it to my printer. It may be compatible, but does not appear to have been made for the V2.
