Question:	I can’t get the filament to dry in time for on-the-air drawing. How can I draw upwards and make a joint
Answer:	Well for me I just held it in place... it just hangs there from the tip of the pen and you have to pull it tight. But, after about five/six seconds it should harden enough to pull the pen away and you have a verticle line. But, my brother has a desk fan set up that he has turned towards his work and said it works well. You just have to make sure the fan isn't too close and bends the plastic. But, you shouldn't have an issue getting verticle lines if you just hold it in place for a few seconds.

Answer:	The bed is 235x235mm though the machine is said to print 220x220mm. I’ve printed up to 240mm on this machine with some slicer tweaks. Yes that means printing over the edges of the bed. It prints up to 250mm high. This printer has managed to print everything I’ve ever printed. I even bought a larger machine and still haven’t found anything that won’t print on the Ender 3.

Question:	I want to use a 3d printing wheel filament to use it continuesly but will it rotate the filament as i feed it
Answer:	Desktop 3D printers that use a spool have a more robust feed mechanism than this pen. If you have your spools set to feed very smoothly and easily, like on a ball bearing setup, you should be OK. Where you might have issues is with having the spool on a solid plastic rod type holder which can add more friction or with some brands of filament that are not wound as well as others and can bind which also could be a problem. If you can employ some sort of method of keeping some slack in the filament so you're not pulling straight off the spool that seems ideal.
Question:	once the pen is heated and the abs starts to feed through the pen stops and starts cooling down mid draw causing you to reheat and restart
Answer:	An update as we had not seen this question earlier, Robert R had the correct answer. There was an issue with some of the power adapters that were packaged last year where power could momentarily drop on speed settings less than full speed and the pen would return to standby mode. Any 3D Pen Pro sold after March 2019 will not have this issue, and if you have one from last year and see this then please email us at support@mynt3d for a replacement.
Question:	How bad is the odor from the filaments? Daughter with scent allergies
Answer:	ABS fumes are bad for you. PLA is better, no matter what filament you use you should use it in a well ventilated area. PLA has less of an ordor and is a corn based plastic that is considered safer by 3D print enthusiasts.
Question:	How offten does this pen jam and how do you clear it
Answer:	Hi John, the most common cause of a jam (in any 3d pen) is deformation of the filament. This can be caused by incorrect temperature settings or an irregularity in the filament, and what happens is the heat causes the filament deform so that is not the right size/shape to pass through the pen. Typically this can be resolved by backing out the filament, cutting off the deformed section and continuing. However sometimes, the deformed section pulls off and remains lodged in the nozzle. One of the great things about our pens is that you can pop off the service door, easily remove the nozzle, remove the deformed section of filament and the pen is good as new. The key to avoiding jams is using high quality filament, setting the temperature correctly and most importantly, if the pen stops feeding normally pause your work and back out the filament instead of trying to force it through the pen. Following these tips, you shouldn't ever have jamming issues.

Answer:	My son is 15 and he handpicked this one as a gift. He doesn’t know that I’ve purchased it, but he was very adamant that this was the best one. If the recipient is very technically inclined, I think it would be a great fit. I’ve read tons of reviews and watched several on YouTube. Once it’s properly assembled ( does seem to take some time), then operation is suitable for a beginner (again, must be very technically inclined). My son did request a different type of filament that I also purchased on Amazon, because the included roll isn’t that great. I don’t remember which one I purchased, but it was about 20.00. He also suggested getting or building a table to sit it on, as you should not sit it directly on the floor. He’s making one to put beside his desk, but I’m sure any small table would do. I’m very excited myself to see it in action, but I guess I’ll have to wait until Christmas.

Answer:	It is very straightforward, but the downloadable PDF instructions leave a lot to be desired. I highly recommend using the top-rated "how to build" video, along with the PDF. Answer:	It has to fit in a six-inch square space. You could make cookie cutters. There's some debate, however, about using PLA printed items with food. I would read up on that.

Answer:	No this can not laser engrave. I bought the Bibo 3d printer because it sounded like it was amazing. It sits on my shelf collecting dust. The FInder 3D printer I use all the time. I have one at home and one at school that my students just love too. The finder is all put together and ready to go with a few adjustments. The Bibo you will have to put together. I would not recommended the Bibo for beginners.

Answer:	Kids being kids the answer is yes. This product should ALWAYS used with adult supervision. Finger guards included with some models would be the best and safest choice. Answer:	Straight answer is yes - however, your definition is subjective! I'm printing small parts 1/2" x 1/4" x 1/4" with transverse holes through them and been very impressed at the smoothness of the final product. There is a QiDi X-One print review vid on YT that shows the quality. If you then want a totally smooth surface, place the printed components in a covered bucket with a rag soaked in acetone. Ensure the parts do not touch the rag. Leave for an hour and the acetone vapor will melt the ribbed surface smooth to achieve a close to glass finish!Enjoy!

Question:	What version is the board
Answer:	The newest version of the board is 1.1.5, it does not come with the printer though. Mine came with 1.1.4 which is very similar to the 1.1.3. Creality Sells the 1.1.5 separately right now as the Creality v1.1.5 Silent Main Board. It is $50 bucks and you might find it cheaper but it is a worthwhile upgrade. It has newer stepper drivers that make the stepper motors virtually silent. I can't hear them anymore only the fans now. The board also has thermal runaway enabled and has a boot loader preinstalled so if you wanted to switch to Vanilla Marlin or the TH3D software you could do so very easily. Installing this board and the TH3D software also made adding a BL Touch kit easy.

Question:	What is the physical footprint of this unit
Answer:	The actual base footprint itself requires a flat 12" x 12" surface, however certain parts such as the display panel overhang requiring a bit more space. A roughly 16" wide by about 20" deep space should be about right, although you will want to make sure both the back and front have an additional few inches to spare as the bed does move back and forth during operation. I mount mine on top of a 16" x 18" patio paver block for support and stability. I place the paver block over some dense foam that is cut about 1" in from the block edge (14" x 16"). This gives the printer a platform that helps contribute mass to absorb vibrations as well as offer a bid of noise reduction cause by sound transmission through the base. Placed a few inches from the back wall it also ensures the printer travel area remains clear. There is also YouTube video on using this technique if interested (not mine but I came across it after I came up with the same idea separately).

Answer:	It does come with a very old version of Cura. The lastest version of Cura is what I am using. Just download it from https://ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-cura-software/list. If all you are doing is downloading models and printing this is all you need. If you want to make your own 3D models that complicates things. There are many, many 3d modeling programs and which one to use is a very personal choice and each takes time to learn to use. Blender is free, Sketch-up is also I think. But there are commercial programs that can cost up to a couple of thousand to use. Zbrush, Studio Max, and others.
