Answer: The bristles look like shiny black plastic, because they are shiny black plastic. The bristles in the SSP 10 used to be soft horsehair, but Miele modified this accessory several years ago to include some synthetic fibers for strength and durability. As of my most recent purchase of the SSP 10 in early 2014, it appears that Miele has removed all the natural hair bristles from this brush, while still calling it a natural hair brush. If there are any natural horsehairs in this brush, you would need a magnifying glass to find them. This brush is now a stiff and abrasive dusting accessory due to the Polyamide bristles, so beware. Miele has ruined what was once a wonderful, gentle dusting brush, while offering no other horsehair alternatives in this size to fit the canister vacs.

Answer: That is a good question. When I went back to Lowe’s to get one they only had 6 that’s right 6 in the US. They called their Samsung supplier and couldn’t get an answer. Sorry but Samsung is very deceptive when they advertise this machine. I don’t understand why this isn’t just included. $900 machine and $25 dollar peice is extra.

Answer: Calder, I purchased and returned the Miele Parquett Twister SBB 300-3 and I own a version of the AirTeq tool head. I found the Miele Parquett Twister to well ... twisty. As you push the head forward it tends to want to twist left or right even if you want to have the head move straight. I found the tendency to excessively twist annoying. On the other hand the AirTeq works nicely on hardwood floors and it is very easy to flip a switch to change over to carpeting. By not having a rotary head I find it easier to clean when it comes to long hair which would often get caught in my old style rotary head on my Sebo. Rotary heads can do a great job but they require m more maintenance.

Answer: Both the Cat and Dog and the Marin would be great vacuums for your situation. The C3 Marin is the most popular Miele canister vacuum we offer in our vacuum store. While the Cat and Dog does come with the STB101 and Activated Carbon filter, the Marin has the auto setting and SEB236, which I prefer for wall to wall carpeting, and includes the HEPA filter. If I were spending my money in your situation, I would purchase the Marin, and add on the STB101. Both however are great vacuums!
