Answer: Since upright HEPA vacuum cleaners with motorized drives were no longer available, I decided to try this Miele Brillant canister. I was skeptical because my experiences with canister vacs were negative. However, the Miele is so lightweight that it doesn't need a deafening motorized drive. The Miele has strong suction, is easy to use and very portable. You get what you pay for, so yes, I'd say it's worth $1500.

I was looking for something that would correspond to the old Electrolux, but this is not it. Very cheaply made and the suction is strong enough. I will not buy a Miele again due to my experience with this one.

Answer: I think it's the best vacuum for all floor types as well as all types of rugs. I have not had any issues with any of my flooring in fact I'm pretty sure my carpets are cleaner since I started using my Miele. The best thing is that it will automatically turn off the roller brush on it's own when I'm moving from room to room and you have 5 levels to choose from level 1 being hardwood flooring and as high as level 5 for deep pile carpeting. The suction is outstanding and I love that when I change the bag it's completely sealed so nothing in the bag comes out. I highly recommend this specific Miele Vacuum.

Answer: Both the Cat and Dog and the Marin would be great vacuums for your situation. The C3 Marin is the most popular Miele canister vacuum we offer in our vacuum store. While the Cat and Dog does come with the STB101 and Activated Carbon filter, the Marin has the auto setting and SEB236, which I prefer for wall to wall carpeting, and includes the HEPA filter. If I were spending my money in your situation, I would purchase the Marin, and add on the STB101. Both however are great vacuums!

Answer: It's very easy to get the debris out: since one usually takes care of wet messes by other means, one always vacuums dry things, e.g., dust and pet hair. Since the walls of the container are hard plastic, everything usually just falls out without sticking. My experience is that nothing sticks to the walls of the container. In fact, I've found the walls of bags to hold more dust than the walls of a hard plastic container. And with a hard plastic container, you can actually wipe it clean if you are really worried. The latter is much harder with a bag.

I manage the property where I live, our housekeepers have used our last Miele for maybe 19-20 years, before that the building owner had it for untold many years, (the one we had wasn't even a commercial model). If that does not work, Push down very hard on the handle. It may seem like it is properly seated, but if it is not quite all the way locked in, the connection can be lost. Answer: Recommended HEPA filter replacement is one year. There is a time strip on new Miele Hepa filters that is pressed prior to installing them that takes about one year to fill. Once the filter is due to be replaced, the time strip will say "Replace".
