Answer:	I think it's the best vacuum for all floor types as well as all types of rugs. I have not had any issues with any of my flooring in fact I'm pretty sure my carpets are cleaner since I started using my Miele. The best thing is that it will automatically turn off the roller brush on it's own when I'm moving from room to room and you have 5 levels to choose from level 1 being hardwood flooring and as high as level 5 for deep pile carpeting. The suction is outstanding and I love that when I change the bag it's completely sealed so nothing in the bag comes out. I highly recommend this specific Miele Vacuum.

Answer:	Recommended HEPA filter replacement is one year. There is a time strip on new Miele Hepa filters that is pressed prior to installing them that takes about one year to fill. Once the filter is due to be replaced, the time strip will say "Replace".
