Question:	Which Oreck is best for residential use
Answer:	The only major difference between this and some of the lower end residential XL models of years past is the "Commercial" marking, the cord color, and the lack of a bag dock which can be retrofitted. It is also highly likely this can be upgraded to a two speed model by simply installing an Oreck 2 speed switch.
Question:	My daughters and i all have long hair that we have to cut out of the vacuum brush. How is this vacuum with hair
Answer:	Any vacuum with a rotating brush is going to get tangled with long hairs but this is actually a good thing. All upright vacuums have the fan that pulls the dirt in, in front of the bag so all the hair and stuff has to go past the spinning fan first. You can hear this whenever something hard is picked up and can be heard hitting the fan blades, not good. Any long hairs or string that gets past the rotating brush, is going to get tangled on the fan which you cannot get to, to cut them out. This will cause the fan to run hot and shorten the life of the machine.
Question:	I am about to buy the XL2100RHS but do not want to use the thin, cheap commercial bags. Is there a HEPA bag that fits this product

Answer:	Just jumping in here. We've had a few dysons (some second hand, others new) and I've always found them to be incredibly underwhelming. "But they last forever!" Maybe, but they don't do a better job than I've seen $150 cleaners do that still last for many years. The dysons were also unusable for stair cleaning and on the model I had, the brush would turn off when it was in full upright mode! Terrible design. I'm also pretty convinced they're not sealed that well for allergens. Their bagless design is also terrible. We're going to give this Oreck a try and see how it goes...

Answer:	I do not know which model I have. I really like the vacuum cleaner. Bags are a little pricey, I get the high filtration bags. I have a filthy house after 3 days of living, 5 large dogs and family member that does not take his shoes off at the back door. Live on the prairie grass particles , weed seeds, dirty paws . The vacuum does a great job on wool rugs and tile floors, great suction. Lightweight tools stay on board when not using them. Gets the dog fur off the rugs , red rug white fur. Convenient well located on and off buttons. Like the small upholstery tools Only criticism is the tube for the onboard tools is to short for practical use. Like to use tools under buffets, ceiling fans etc. With effort reaching and bending will function, wish it was 3 ft. longer. I would buy again. Consumer report led me to this vacuum. Answer:	I made one that looks like it came from Kenmore so I can use a generic central vacuum hard floor brush with it. Here is why the hoses and ends are sized the way they are. Vacuums operate on a combination of both suction and airflow. The smaller the hole, the greater the suction but the less the airflow. The larger the hole, the less suction but the greater the airflow. There is a happy medium of suction and airflow where the motor works best. Old fashioned vacuum motors like those in old Kenmores, Hoovers, vintage Eurekas and the like made their best power between 3/4 inch and 1 1/4 inch diameter openings, so it's no coincidence that their wands were a standard 1 1/4 inches diameter. New vacuum motors benefit from technologies like computational fluid dynamics that greatly increased their airflow without suction dropping off. To take advantage of the increased airflow newer machines really need larger diameter wands and attachments. That is what you see on this vacuum, as well as modern Mieles, Tri-Stars and Aerus Lux machines. The smaller traditional wands will choke the motor off and reduce cleaning power. You are better off using the attachments that come with it, they are very good compared to what Miele, Simplicity or Riccar provide, and unlike some other vacuums like Kirby, Tri-Star, Rainbow or Filter Queen they all stow under the lid instead of having to drag an attachment caddy around.
