Answer:	According to the directions no, Two of my floors are not sealed though and I still use it, I try not to use as much water and I move a lot faster to get the little I use up fast but I haven't see any problems

The only difference between them and mopping is that they were easier to push around, the water remained hot, and you were not bending over to wring it out. Even the ones that said they dried the floors, did not unless you went over them at least at least three times (it varied, depending on the humidity level). There is nothing worse than pulling up water that is not clean after you have used the machine at least twice. It is discouraging and disgusting. That is why I LOVE this one, it cleans using very little of the 2x solution (a small bottle is included) and then removes the water leaving you with a clean, dry floor without streaks. It is lightweight and I am nor writhing in pain when I finish.
Question:	How it cleaning corners and along baseboards? Does the unit go all the way to the baseboards
Answer:	To answer your question specifically, no, the machine cannot go flush up against the baseboard and into corners because the cleaning brushes are recessed a small distance from the front edge of the machine. There is also a small area on either side of a threshold when moving from one room to another which the machine doesn't clean very well. This happens with a change from one flooring material to another (i.e., vinyl to tile, vinyl to wood, wood to marble). But, overall, these baseboard, corner and threshold areas are small enough that I can use a soft cleaning tool such as a mop or sponge, to my satisfaction. I hope this helps.Judy

Question:	What is the difference between this and the SteamVac also by Hoover
Answer:	I have been comparing them to decide which one I want, this one (hoover Power Scrub) has automatic mixing of the detergent solution and the water, so you can choose a water only (rinse) or water with cleaning solution. The SteamVac, you must mix the solution in the water tank, so in order to rinse you would have to completely empty out the clean tank and then add just water. The power scrub only turns off the scrub brushes when the handle is in the upright and locked position. The scrub brushes on the SteamVac can be adjusted for gentle, normal, and off. They both use heated air on the dry (suction) strokes to help with drying. It looks like the SteamVac might be a little cheaper but then it doesn't come with all the attachments the power Scrub does. In fact it is a little vague on which attachments come with it. I checked the owners manual for both of these for this information. The Power Scrub is about 2 pounds lighter than the SteamVac. The assembly of the SteamVac seems a lot more involved. I think I am about sold on the Hoover Power Scrb Deluxe carpet cleaner.
Question:	can the brushes be shut off
Answer:	There is a rubber flap on the back of the dirty water tank. If you open that, it breaks the airflow that drives the brushes. It won't pick up liquid while the flap is open though, so I spray and scrub with it open, then seal the flap to extract liquid. I'm not sure if that is the purpose of the flap, but it works.
Question:	Do i have to rinse after i shampoo? seems like an annoying extra step. never had a carpet cleaner that did that
Answer:	If you think of shampooing your carpet like shampooing your hair, it makes sense to rinse. Adding shampoo to you hair and then stepping out of the shower might make your hair clean, but it's not going to be soft. Long ago (LONG ago) when I shampoo'd carpets as part of my job, we were taught to think of it as hair: (a) Lay down a bit of water first; (b) apply shampoo; (c) rinse it out. If the carpeted area was heavy traffic, do just like the shampoo bottle says -- apply a second bit of shampoo, work it in, and then rinse it out. Over the years I've ALWAYS done that when cleaning my own 2500 sq feet of WHITE carpet in my house, and it always comes out fluffy, soft, and white. Even with several black dogs.
Question:	Would you recommend for pet owners? I have 4 pets and wonder if the pieces are easy enough to take apart to remove hair that will surely accumulate
Answer:	This was my first scrubber for carpets. I broke my ankle soon after I got it, so I only got to use it 3 times. I thought it did a good job on open areas. I did not like how it did close to the edges of the carpet where it meets the wall. I used it on steps and it did fine. One thing I remember is hold the dirty water container tightly when you go to empty it or the dirty water can spill out all over your work that you've done. Once you have figured out how to assemble and take apart, it is fairly easy then. I liked the fact that it gets the water up fairly well. For the money, I am happy with it, I have two cats. Must mention it takes some strength to work on steps and edges, as I used a large toothbrush. But the latter doesn't have anything to do with the animals, I was just giving you my opin of the machine.

Answer:	If you take the cartridge in the back that holds the cleaner out, you should be able to just rinse and remove the residual soap!
Question:	How does this machine do with hair? No matter how much i vaccum, there is hair. Does it get stuck in the brushes too badly
Answer:	I have a cat so hair is a major problem for me. The Smartwash does pick up the hair and it can get stuck in the nozzle going to the dirty water tank. The brushes will stop. But it is fairly easy to clean both the nozzle and brushes. It is easy to disconnect the pieces to clean. This machine does a good job of cleaning. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. I do recommend that you follow the rinse instructions after using the cleaner. It rinses the carpet to remove the cleaning solution from the rug. All you do is remove the bottle with the cleaner solution and go over the carpet again with just clean water.

Question:	Is the carpet supposed to be completely clean when the water is completely clear
Answer:	If you are sucking up clear water, yes the area you are cleaning should be clean. However I let mine dry, pretreated it again and went back over it to make sure and the penetrate deeper. It seemed to work. My carpet had an older set in pet stain that I didn't find right away.
Question:	does it pick up pet urine
Answer:	You need an enzyme cleaner to completely break down pet urine. Especially for cats. If you don’t remove all of the urine, it will eventually start to smell again and could cause the pet to pee there in the future.
Question:	what is the total weight and motor capacity
Answer:	The thing weighs about 12 pounds. I don't know what you mean by motor capacity, but if you go over the same area too many times it'll pull the carpet fibers up. My office was a mess. I had Stanley steamer come in a year or so ago and they did an okay job. This thing was 99 bucks and in 20 minutes did a fantastic job. I have white carpets that were gray and now their white again.

Answer:	I don’t know for sure, but I wouldn’t try it. I would be wary of the effect of high heat with chemicals. Simple Green works as well as this stuff and that’s what I’d try.

Answer:	It states to add 2 oz to a quart of hot water.
Question:	Is this safe on epoxy or colored grout
Answer:	Yes assuming the grout has dried once colored.

Question:	How many uses does this bottle make
Answer:	The directions call for one ounce per quart of water. The bottle has 32 ounces. The machine uses 2 quarts of water so the bottle of cleaner will do 16 washes. Hope that helps !!!!

Answer:	I believe that other than it is what my wife likes, the real reason seems to be that it is for sealed hardwood and the hardwood floor cleaner is for exposed hardwood if i'm not mistaken....................

Answer:	I just spent 24 minutes on hold with Hoover and they said that you can use any of the Hoover cleaners in the TwinTank. They no longer make the TwinTank or the SteamPlus cleaner. She did suggest using one for hard surfaces like this product.

Answer:	I used this on Pergo flooring and it worked fine. Don’t see why it wouldn’t work on vinyl planking.

Answer:	Cleanup is really easy! The nozzle pops right out and you can remove the brushrolls to rinse. Also, the whole lid comes off of the dirty water tank so that it is easy to empty and rinse.

Answer:	I don’t know. My cleaner immediately destroyed the new belt so I trashed it.

Answer:	The model I have is an fh51001. The series is a yx10.0. This did fix mine. However I was supposed to receive 2 belts and only received 1. I ordered 2, paid for 2, received 1. I contacted the seller and explained the problem and they told me it was not their issue so they would not be doing anything about it.

Question:	I love my hoover dual cleaner #440005536 FH51000, but the belt keeps breaking
Answer:	I also like the unit. I have come to accept the Hoover belt system is not the best and I will need to replace them more often than I like. Mine break frequently also. I also experience the drums not rotating freely which led to a burned out belt. There is a screw in them which I removed and sprayed in WD40 to insure they stay lubricated. I have buy several belts at a time and don't mind changing them when necessary. Sorry but I don't have a solution to stop the belts from braking.
