Answer:	Thank you for contacting Rubbermaid Commercial Products. The vented channels allow the the bag to lifted out of the container much easier.

Answer:	This is the Rubber Maid "Slim Jim " item and there is a "slim jim" lid for vented "slim jims" available on amazon from Hugo's lines.Cost is an unbelievable $40. Had to return as the lid extends about an inch on each side. Sturdy, but too large.

Answer:	Yes. BUT it is smaller at the bottom than it is at the top. If filled to the top with water, it will bulge and create a top heavy situation. It will most likely tip over if accidentally bumped. Wall thickness is certainly adequate to contain water if it is supported properly. Keep in mind 23 gallons of water weighs approximately 192 lbs. or 87 kilos.

Answer:	The container doesn't say the recycled content of this bin and we don't have the paperwork any longer. Information on the bottom of the container says the following: - Manufactured in USA for S.P. Richards Co., Atlanta, GA. - Model GJ057258- The recycle triangle sign with LLDPE next to it. - Two clock like circles with a single clock arm in each. The first one has numbers 1-12 and the arrow points to 7. The second has the numbers 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, and 13. The arrow on this one points to 10. I think these two indicate the manufacture month (7) and year (2010).

Answer:	I purchased the containers for me and Mom. You can use small grocery bags to cover the container, but you may find it's not needed. The bins are lightweight so you can easily wash them in out in your sink. I hope this helps.
Question:	What type plastic(recyle code #) are they? Will theyget brittle and crack if frozen
Answer:	Well, I've had these about a year now. I do keep them in my garage so they are not exposed to the weather. But we just love them, they are just the right size, easy to carry to the recycling center (we live in an area where there is no pick-up service) they are easy to hose out if necessary. They are made of very sturdy heavy plastic and stack well. We recommend them highly. Very happy with this purchase.
Question:	How much weight can the handles (and the bins themselves) safely withstand? Would, say, 26lbs / 12kg still be ok
Answer:	I put 50lbs dumbbell in it to test it out for you and still holds up fine, but that's probably the max. They're pretty heavy duty.

Answer:	Great question, John. Yes -- you are absolutely correct. Stacking the bins subtracts just under 1.5" of height for each stack. Two bins high measures 25.5" (13.5" x 2 - 1.5"). Three bins high measures 37.5" (13.5" x 3 - (1.5" x 2)). Four bins high measures 49.5" (13.5" x 4 - (1.5" x 3)). Said another way, the bottom bin is 13.5" tall and each stacked bin adds 12". Answer:	The previous answer was completely wrong. As it says on this page, it is 14.75 inches wide by 16 inches deep, by 25.75 inches long, considerably longer than the previous answer said.

Answer:	No, there are no drainage holes. But if you have an awl or an icepick you could easily poke some in the bottom. It is made of soft, rubbery plastic--not the hard, shattering type.
Question:	Are the dimensions on the description correct? 3.6" x 2.8" x 4.1" seems rather small
Answer:	The bin we received, measures 20 1/2 inches long x 15 1/2 wide x 15 inches deep -- these measurements are at the top of the bin. So it is wider at the top and a little more narrow at the bottom. Perhaps the measurements you are seeing are for a different product model? But it seems to be the 'standard' commercial size and works well.

Answer:	Yes. We have the 5.0 cu ft chest freezer from Costco, with 2 top baskets. Put two bins on the bottom. One stacked on top. Two on bottom fit side by side exactly. There is about 1 to 2 inches extra front to back. LOVE these for organizing the freezer. So much easier to get things out. You don't want 4 or you won't use the standard baskets. You still will have the freezer shelf to put stuff on too.

Question:	Could you fit a standard brown paper grocery bag in these
Answer:	Perhaps, I never tried. They work perfectly just as they are. I only put clean items in them, and then take which ever bag is full to the transfer station. I did put a new label on one because I put my paper in something else.

Answer:	I suggest just wiping them out with dish soap and a sponge , then rinse in water. A washing machine may ruin the stability that makes these bags stand upright.

Answer:	I do not have this problem. Make sure the bag is unfolded and the bottom is open and flat. Then, using the velcro on each side of the bag, Vecro each bag to its companion bag (as in the product illustration). If you ensure that the labels all face the same direction, the velcro is easy. With the bags attached to each other, they stand easy for filling.

Answer:	I love this bin thus far, but I do have a couple of concerns. Because we seem to live on top of a large anthill (!), we have to take special precautions all the time to stop the little buggers from sensing odors. How long will the filter prevent odors from escaping before the ants start attacking? We are vegetarian, so the scraps we put in this container are only fruit and veggie scraps (and peanut shells and corn cobs from feeding critters). Thanks much.
