Answer:	No, the lid connects to the container in the back. The lid is assembled by Rubbermaid. It would be removable if you disassembled it, but that would take a while.

Answer:	Agree, as long as the top is closed and wind doesn't blow it open (which has never happened to us), the container is weatherproof. It's very similar to the big trash cans provided by refuse services.

Answer:	It is removable. It has two screws on either side of the lid. I don't think it can just pop off and though. The lid does flip all the way back to hang upside down and flush with the back of the container.

Answer:	Well i can not say for sure if this trash can is rat proof or not. I will say that this can is great and very heavy duty, as our trash guys are everything bit gentle. I suppose if you put something heavy on top of the attached lid to hold it down it would be very hard for something like a rat to get in the can. I bought two of these cans they work grwat for all my needs. I hope this answer finds tou and helps with tour needs.

It is listed as the "Combo Hitch- Haul pin Hitch or Handled Lawn and Garden Equipment Even Wheeled Garage cans". I know that's a lot. That item will connect to any trailer hitch with a 1-7/8" or 2" ball hitch. I love it and you reminded me I need to leave a review. If you wanted to pull two cans at once you would need both items.

Answer:	No, it does not lock. NO a lock could not be installed in any manner that would not indicate you might live in a trailer. The lid opens with a foot step pad, so unless your dog figured out how to step on the pad, OR tip the whole can over(mine can't) your garbage would be safe.
