Question:	Does the bag rip when you take it out because the can is bigger then the opening
Answer:	If the bag is full and the trash inside is compact, normal kitchen bags will rip on the way out. This is my one complaint with this unit. I switched to using trash compactor bags with it and have not had any rips since.
Question:	Has any body use the electrical adaptor instead of the batteries?, and how it work out
Answer:	Yes I bought two of the AC adapters and have them plugged in. They work great and no batteries to change. There is an add-on for these at about $19 each.. keep shopping/looking, I found the same ones for about $6 each and they work perfect. They simply plug in the back. I have 2 cans side by side- 1 is for recycling... and a small multi strip behind the cans to plug in. Work great!
Question:	can you lock the lid when you leave the house because of a curious dog
Answer:	Yes. There is a small lever that you can swing over the front lip of the door so it mechanically locks it closed. It does MOT however stop the motor from trying to open it if the sensor sees movement on front of it. There seems to be a clutch inside though because it didn't grind gears or break anything when I did this to test it. However... I imagine after a while of this it would damage it. However there IS a power switch on the back to make the motor NOT try to open it. If this is off you can still lift the lid though unless you use the first mentioned lever on the front (mechanical lock)
Question:	I see a lot of the reviews for this trash can are from years ago. Can someone tell how it is holding up? It seems most reviews are from
Answer:	I bought this in 2007, and left a review sometime in '08-'09 about how much I loved this trash can. We are still using the same one and have only had to change the batteries a few times (in 12 years). The only reason I'm buying a new one today is because my kids were messing around the other day and slammed the lid shut, breaking the gear. I just hope my new one can last as long as my first one did (who knows how much longer it could have gone if my kids hadn't busted it)!

Answer:	Hello and thank you for your question. We have taken a few hangers from our inventory and tried to unscrew the hook from the hanger. We were unable to do so. The chrome hook goes through the hanger and does not unscrew. Answer:	I received two of these. One had no stickers or information whatsoever - the other had two stickers, a large one as shown in the photo that said "BEHRENS" and a slightly smaller oval sticker proclaiming "Made in the USA".They appear to be identical, so I assume they are both Behrens and made in the USA.

Answer:	Yes they most certainly are raccoon proof! We have three of the buckets and none of them have been breached by the wildlife the have observed (raccoons, possum and squirrels).
Question:	how many pounds of corn will the 10 gallon pail it hold
Answer:	Cannot answer. I use my 6 gallon pail to hold a 25# bag of dog food. Using dog food @ 25#/0.77 cu-ft; and the 10 gallon container having a volumn of 1.34 cu-ft: I anticipate 44# of dog food can be placed in the 10 gallon container. Because I do not know the weight of your corn in #/cu-ft I cannot give you an answer. Locking lid is adequate protection from rodents; probably inadequate as protection against racoons, dogs.

Answer:	I have both the 6gal and a 10gal - the 6gallon can hold a 20 lb bag of Nature's Domain puppy food (small kibbles) perfectly. The 10gal can hold a 35 lb pound bag of Nature's Domain dog food (larger kibbles) perfectly. Hope that helps you/someone.

Answer:	Yeah...I also have kids so slipping is a general problem as is. The fit is pretty snug so you have to like, precisely put the bag on and not overfill it like you probably would with other cans.

Answer:	You'll have enough clearance to open it most of the way but it will bang against whatever is over it because I just measured mine to be close to 37" at full open.

Opening and closing mode

Infrared technology, as your hand or debris approaches the bin (about 6 inches/15cm away) the sensor on the lid automatically opens the lid.After your hand is withdrawn the lid will close automatically (3s delay). Lid will remain open if debris or hand is within 6 inches of the sensor zone. There are 2 buttons on the front to open and close the lid manually, as well as an ON/OFF switch on the back of the trash bin.
