Answer:	I am guessing by dowels you mean the thing that the bags are on. The bags do come off, which is good, you can wash the bag. I put rubber bands on the end of each of them to keep them from sliding off .

Question:	Hi! Looking for something to sort recycling and take to the curb once a week - would this work and if so, could it handle getting a little damp? tks
Answer:	Hi, I really wouldn't suggest it for that application as it is all fabric. While the outside is a pretty sturdy fabric, getting hauled to the street on a weekly basis would mean it wouldn't hold up very well. I use it as one piece of our laundry sorter and it works great in that capacity -- very sturdy. But if used for recycling, the inner fabric would quickly get stained (it's white and fairly thin) and possibly torn. I'd suggest something made of a hard plastic for your application. Hope that helps!
