Answer:	I think it will help to a degree, but keep in mind it is somewhat thin. You might consider a cushion with a central cutout to relieve tailbone pressure. I use the Tsumbay Cushion on a chair that already has as memory foam seat in order to supplement the cushioning effect. I think used on a hard surfaced chair the Tsumbay Cushion will not provide very much comfort in your situation. That's just my $0.02 without truly knowing your situation though.

Answer:	Absolutely, if using for shoes or possibly plants or basically anything, I believe you would not encounter any issues. Very sturdy and painted with a heavy coating (not sure what) or treated to prevent rusting under reasonable circumstances. Go for it, I bought two and plan to purchase more. Easy to assemble
