I use the Tsumbay Cushion on a chair that already has as memory foam seat in order to supplement the cushioning effect. I think used on a hard surfaced chair the Tsumbay Cushion will not provide very much comfort in your situation. That's just my $0.02 without truly knowing your situation though.

Answer:	I'm 210 put my shoes on sitting on it. That being said it can sway a little bit and I am careful not to break it. I feel it's very sturdy for being bamboo but I wouldn't let kids jump on it or play on it only because it is not a solid oak or pine bench.
