Answer:	My door is slightly smaller that 1 3/4" but it would not go over it without damaging the door. It was really well constructed and would have perfect. If i could have opened it up just a bit, it probably would have worked but it is rather heavy duty so not bendable!

Answer:	When shoes are in its about 5 inches tall, it may be 1 inch when nothing is in it haha. Also I would recommend getting the "DAZZ underbed shoe organizer" instead. It is about the same height with shoes (5.5 inches) and it is much more sturdy and better material compared to the "Richards Gearbox" which is flimsy. Just saying, hope this helped.

Question:	How to mount on wall
Answer:	For anyone else wondering...mount a sturdy rod, like a towel bar, or curtain rod. I do this with a lot of my over the door storage items.
Question:	do your shoes ever fall off when the door opens or closes
Answer:	Never. After viewing the question, I went and opened and shut the door with great speed and jarring. None of the shoes moved. The shoes are on an angle and the heels go over a bar, but that said, even the flats did not move at all. It is very sturdy and very well built. The unit comes with velcro dots to adhere it to the door for further stability, and I did use those.

Answer:	Sorry: I just counted 8 shelves. Didn't count 4 shelves that I have used to keep my shoes. If I keep only my wife's shoes then 36 pairs (flats and heals) will fit in this. This is an amazing shoe rack. I love it.

Answer:	I have used these shoe organizers in two different houses and now on a third. Each time I have them installed differently depending on the space. Only once have I actually installed them as directed over the door. In one instance my contractor used a 1.5 inch think piece of wood, stained it to the color of my door and mounted it to the top of my solid wood door. He than mounted the rack to the piece of wood. Worked fabulously, keep in mind the door has to be solid wood to hold the weight of the shoes. In a separate situation, (wish this allowed a picture I would show you), my contractor made the most incredible use of space by using an entire sheet of laminated wood (like those used for the back of a shelving unit in closet organizers). He mounted the wood vertically in the closet secured by ball bearing sliders on the top (with a top shelf over it) and ball bearing slider on the bottom. Then he installed 2 shoe racks on one each side of the laminated solid wood with the final result ending up in a system that the shoes pull out (with a hardware pull mounted on the end)! I had two of these one for my husband and one for myself. It was beautiful and held more than 200 shoes! In the third situation, we used wood, the same as from our closet organizers and since that wood was not as thick as we needed it to be, he simply doubled the layer and mounted two pieces of wood on top of each other to create the thickness and sturdiness. Then he mounted the shoes to the wall on those wood mounts. I love these racks, they’re very handy, you just have to get a little creative depending on the space. Hope this helps!

Answer:	No, this will not. My door is 1 1/2 inch wide and the metal hook bent then broke before I ever put anything into it because it's so much wider than the door. The hanger was empty so it wasn't the weight of items in it. I have had it for 5 minutes, empty, and it's already broken.

Answer:	They sell a similar one at big box home improvement stores but not sure the holes would line up perfectly, might would take some modification.

Answer:	The compartments on top are fairly deep so it wouldn't be the best if you wanted to see what type of tea bag it is. Also, the top compartments are a bit narrow (as they are designed for breakfast bars) so you'd have to turn the tea bags sideways for them to fit. The bottom area is much larger than it appears in the picture as it is designed for larger snack size bags.

Question:	What size of men shoes fit in this rack before it becomes a problem and falls out? And please do not answer if you do not know
Answer:	They pull out about 5/6th of the way. They are very sturdy, I would buy them again. Just remember the bottom of the basket is about 1/2 inch over the bottom of your cabinet, so they decrease the height of the cabinet space.
Question:	can this hold boots too
Answer:	The entire product is coated metal. It comes in two pieces, three shelves on top and three on bottom. The bottom section is meant to be hung from the top but we dispensed with that and connected them both to the door using wood screws and washers. We also cut out cardboard shelving liners for the bins to help smaller spice bottles sit more securely.. overall..it works great with a little tweaking to suit or likes and functions..you can just install as directed but it will move and swing..ours is installed on the inside of a walk in pantry door that is opened and closed all the time so it needed to be fastened directly to door.. if it’s for a door that is not regularly used normal install should be fine.

Answer:	Since we affixed ours directly to the door with screws and washers we used the extra metal pieces that were meant to hang them together and made hooks out of them for pot holders etc.

Answer:	The two racks connect with two, four inch S-hooks. the top rack has the hooks for over the door built in and part of the side rails. the Bottom part connects with an S-hook on each side. That was all the parts I received and had to use U-tacks to hold it to the door to keep it from flopping around when the door opens and closes.
