Answer:	There are 9 holders and even though it says 36 (3 per holder) I find more than 2 can be too much where you can mess with the shapes of the hats. 2 per hook is no problem though (18)

Answer:	The button on top of the ball cap helps keep the cap in place. I don't think a big brim hat would work.
Question:	Are the caps hanging on hooks or on hooks so they are securely in place
Answer:	They fit the rope securely and they won't slide down even when there are 2 caps on each clip (I haven't tried more than 2) but the weight or the caps pull the clip forward. When hung is a place where they won't be disturbed this isn't a problem. If they are hung some where where they are constantly bumped and brushed past we found that they could come loose.
Question:	can the rack hang on the closet pole like pictured
Answer:	Yes, it can. But the bottom of the rack hangs loose, which doesn't look all tight and neat, unless you can affix it to the bottom of the floor some way. I can't do that in our closet, so it's hanging loose at the bottom of the rack, but it is fine, and works well.

Answer:	Probably not but you are taking a chance. I don't have cold water DW (do they actually exist?) so I wash the hat in the regular washer using warm water and gentle cycle.
Question:	Will this keep the front of a hat from getting deformed, wavy, or bumpy? I have rigid front hats that I want to keep rigid and in shape after washing
Answer:	My hats held the form of the bill. I would recommend removing the hats from the cage after wash, setting the hat on top of the cage (bill resting on top of where the bill would be during wash) and then air drying the hat outside for 12-24 hours.
