13 best small battery tester

A small battery tester is a device designed to test and check the charge or voltage of batteries, typically smaller ones like AAA, AA, C, D, 9V, or button cell batteries. Here's some information about small battery testers in the context of home organization and storage:

  1. Purpose: Small battery testers are used to determine the status of batteries. They help you identify whether a battery is still good and has sufficient charge or if it needs to be replaced.

  2. Compact Size: These testers are often designed to be compact and portable, making them easy to store in drawers, storage containers, or toolboxes. They are handy for quick battery checks when needed.

  3. Battery Compatibility: Small battery testers can typically test a wide range of battery types, including alkaline, rechargeable, and button cell batteries. This versatility allows you to check various types of batteries commonly used in household items.

  4. Simple Operation: Battery testers are user-friendly and typically feature a slot or contact points where you insert the battery for testing. The device will then display the battery's voltage or indicate its condition through a digital or analog readout.

  5. LED or Analog Display: Some small battery testers have LED displays with color-coded indicators to show whether the battery is good, weak, or needs replacement. Others may use an analog needle or digital readout to display the battery's voltage level.

  6. Cost Savings: By using a battery tester, you can determine whether a seemingly depleted battery still has some life left. This can help you avoid prematurely discarding batteries that might still be usable, saving you money and reducing waste.

  7. Organizational Aid: Including a small battery tester in your home organization setup, such as a drawer organizer or tool storage, can be helpful. You'll always have a convenient tool on hand to assess the condition of batteries used in various household devices like remote controls, flashlights, toys, and more.

  8. Maintenance: Regularly checking and replacing depleted batteries in your devices can ensure that they function optimally, preventing unexpected power failures and the frustration that can come with them.

Small battery testers are practical tools for any household, providing a quick and efficient way to assess the condition of your batteries and maintain your devices' reliability. They are particularly useful when integrated into your home organization and storage solutions, ensuring that you can easily access them when needed.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this also test a 12 volt lead-acid battery (i.e. the backup power for my sump pump
Answer: It can do 1.3-1.5 button cell only. It does have two nodes on the front that are for Lithium 3 volt batteries but it doesn't say "button" type. You charge the 1.5 size button by slipping into a slot on the right side of the charger and pressing that red button you see on the front.
Question: Will this test 9volt batteries
Answer: This has an ACME thread not the normal SAE. Yes you will need an adapter or a different hose.
Question: Does the Battery Tester use an internal battery that must periodically be replaced
Answer: It comes with a tap but the tap won't work with most r-134 cans you buy. I had to buy a separate tap in order to use this with the r-134 cans I buy in the store.
Question: will it test a 3 volt button battery
Answer: Bleeder valve? If any purging might be necessary, crack open the high side line.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it snap securely shut or does the lid simply rest on the base
Answer: 4 inches
Question: How would this be attached to a wall
Answer: Dear Customer, Thank you for your inquiry! We recommend only bring up the shelf until about the middle part of the legs to prevent possible wobbling on the table since the undershelf also holds the legs in place. If you would like to use this item as a dining table, you can remove the casters, but please know the height of your tabletop, and see the following options. - With caster, the tabletop of this product will be 34" above the ground, If you wish to remove the casters, it will be around 30" high. However, most customers do not wish to have the legs contact the floor directly to prevent scratching the floors and make noises. You may purchase bullet feet and add them to the legs. With bullet feet, it will be around 31" high - If 34" is the height you wish to have, you can purchase directly from the link below for the non-caster version of this table https://www.amazon.com/STAINLESS-STEEL-WORKTABLE-WORK TABLE-30 48/dp/B016APUOT0 Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you! DuraSteel
Question: Why do I need this but not really
Answer: Dear Customer, The top is 18 gauge stainless steel. the bottom is galvanized. Thank you for shopping with us! DuraSteel
Question: Do duracells fit properly inside all slots? the pics have some off brand in the aaa slots. i don't want to have to finagle them out of the holes
Answer: The one that arrived at my house was magnetic everywhere the entire tabletop, it was torn up in shipping. Some of the allen screws were missing. Again the one sent to me is very magnetic. But then again 430 is generally magnetic and a stainless that is more likely to corrode but magnetism is not a good tell of quality or corrosion resistance. http://www.australwright.com.au/stainless-steel-magnetism-corrosion-resistance/

User questions & answers

Question: Why not at least list a few voltages on the scale? They would sell a lot more, at no additional cost
Answer: Try plugging everything in the back of console. And make sure everything is plugged in right spots
Question: Does this unit test batteries under load rather than a straight voltage test
Answer: Wireless keyboard and mouse need to be connected to their respective ports. So if you have a wireless keyboard with a USB dongle + mouse with its own USB dongle, it will work. Do not expect to connect a wireless keyboard+mouse to be connected to a single port. We have tested with NEXILUX keyboard/mouse for android TV and it works. But only as a keyboard or a mouse (one at a time)
Question: Does this show any readings between completely full and completely dead? In my experience, testers with the needle gauge never show anything in betwe
Answer: Normally it works but we do not test it yet.
Question: Can button batteries as used in watches be tested by it
Answer: In my experience so far (owner for a little over 2 weeks), no connection issues at all. This thing works great!

User questions & answers

Question: Is the bat-250 smaller than the bat
Answer: BAT-200 doesn't test coin and watch batteries and BAT-250 does - KDProTools
Question: Trying to figure out the differences between the BAT-200 and BAT
Answer: Yes, you can determine the state of charge ( the terminal voltage) of a 12 volt lead acid battery. I did a quick test a few minutes ago on a spare car battery I have that I charged a few days ago. Using a digital volt meter, the terminal voltage was 12.55 volts, which is typical for a good battery that hasn't been badly discharged, or charged within the last few hours. Using the GTB-500A battery tester, set on the 12 volt range, the needle rested over the first O in GOOD ( upper scale). Putting the meter on the 15 volt range, the needle rested on the " 60%" mark , over the top scale. Since a recently charged lead acid battery can be 13 to 13.5 volts , using the 15 volt scale is safer , and won't overload the meter. I don't know where the meter needle would be if the battery voltage was, say, 13 volts , or a slightly discharged 11.9 volts. Don't try to read the battery voltage while it is being charged , since the terminal voltage can be as high as 14.5 volts. That's where using the GTB-500A for a rechargable lead acid battery gets a bit difficult, since there's no numbers on the scale. Besides determining the current state of charge, often a load test is done to determine if a car battery is good. First, you must attempt to fully charge the battery . Then , a fairly high load of 100 or more amps is put on the battery, and the terminal voltage is observed. That's a test that the GTB-500A tester cannot do , since the load it puts on batteries is quite small, and you still cannot read the exact voltage number. A small digital voltmeter is a better choice for checking the state of charge of a lead acid battery, since you get a number. For a more extensive test, a battery tester with a load capacity of at least 100 amps can tell you if your ( fully charged) car battery is sound, or going bad. Smaller lead acid batteries , such as used for alarm systems and small riding mowers, are tested using a lower amperage load.
Question: Does this tester make the measurements with the battery under load
Answer: Yes. It has 9 test positions, as follows: Button Cell & Zinc Air 1.3V -1.5V, AAA-N & Ni-Cad 1.5V, AA-C-D 1.5V, 22.5V, 15V, 12V, 9V, Photo 6V, Lithium 3V
Question: What is the different between the Amprobe BAT- 250 and BAT 200 tester
Answer: No it does not use an internal battery, the meter gets its power from the battery being tested, the better the battery the stronger the test reading. The main purpose of this meter is to give you a general idea of remaining battery life.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this test through the wire insulation
Answer: Yes. You can tell if it is an energized cord/circuit.
Question: Why does my tester beep 6 times, flashes red then turns off
Answer: i never noticed mine beeping and flashing but it alway's shut's down unless you hold the power button down for a few second's.
Question: Hi what does a slow beep with a red light indicate it's not rapid. Thanks Tom
Answer: Klein non-contact sensors are known for being misleading, by blinking red and beeping even when there is no electrical current nearby. It does blink red and beep fast (and continuously) at 110v power and is pretty good for that. The slow blinks/beeps, even when touching wood or the edge of a kitchen counter, mean nothing. Some say it's due to very low voltage or 'phantom voltage' but this doesn't always seem to be the case.
Question: This pen tester make any sounds when it detects power
Answer: Yes it make a sound and flash red, but make sur than the tester is on green to be sure to test 120 volt because you have two options bleu for low voltage and green for 120 volts!

Question: does it test lithium bateries (non_rechargable
Answer: Yes you can definitely use an Xbox Elite Controller with this converter. I went and bought a new one just for this reason. The back paddles are definitely usable as well. To remap the controls on the controller itself you can use a Windows 10 computer and download the xbox accessories app for it to remap the controls on there. Or you can ask someone you know who owns an Xbox and just hook it up through the USB port and go to accessories on there remap the controls as well. Two options there for your convenience once the controller is programmed it stays that way and works completely the way you remapped your controls. To change it go back to either the two options I described to you enjoy you won't regret it it's awesome!.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you test cr1632 3 volt batteries
Answer: Made in China. Have tested a 2032. but not the 2450
Question: How does it work
Answer: Yes. Mine will bend to almost 90 degrees before the tip kinks. The length of the useable tip (after the bend) is approx 1 3/4" long.
Question: How to use this. Which side down
Answer: Batteries are hard to figure out at first. The best advice is probably to compare one or all cells to the others on one battery. Comparing one cell of one battery to one cell of another is not good. I would first read up on batteries in general through facebook or an RV website. The hydrometer is a good unit, but the glass tube is very fragile. Mine was received with the upper portion of the glass crammed into the rubber stop inside the bulb. I had to break it off evenly and repair it with some silicone gasket material. I think you will be impressed if you compare it to one of the plastic ones.
Question: Will this test 3v button battery cr2450? Also, is this made in China
Answer: Yes as long as you have access to the acid in the battery.
