Question:	Do i need a closet to install this? I wanted to just mount it on my wall and i dont have a closet
Answer:	I don't see why you would need a closet. There is nothing that holds the system up that requires the adjacent walls. The brackets mount flat against the back wall of the closet and the bars hook on, they don't touch the side walls. Cool idea, though.
Question:	Can I put this on 2 separate walls
Answer:	How long is that main rail? I only have 48" of space on the wall.

Answer:	You get 2 5 feet and 2 4 feet hang rods so if you use 2 8 feet rods you will only be able to use 2 , however if you use 1 8 feet and 2 4 feet you will have 3 hang rods!
Question:	How deep does the closet need to be to use this system? My closet is long and tall approximately 84 x 96 but is only 24.5 deep. I am worried the shelves may not work out
Answer:	yes your closet is deep enough for the rubbermaid system as 24 inches is pretty standard. The rubbermaid shelving is only 13 inches deep. I am really pleased with mine and have them in all of our closets now. You can adjust them quite a bit to fit your needs.

Answer:	I bought this kit and installed it in a closet that was just narrower than 5ft. The shelf lenghts in the kit are 36" and 24" the center ones are 24" in the recommended layout. I had to cut it down to fit my closet but it worked well, I needed around 2 huors to install.

Answer:	I am also using mine for nursery storage. They close well, but since they are fabric and cardboard, it is not the same heft as say a wooden drawer, so a determined toddler could probably still get in. For example, the "door," there is no way for it to "lock," so it could be pulled past the wedge-shaped side as shown in the image. I use mine for toy storage though, so it works out very well, and not dangerous edges for baby to really get hurt on. I really like them.

Answer:	I apologize but I am unable to put up pictures here but I went to the Container Store and used the divider on a 3’ x 12” ventilated Elfa shelving. The divider fits on there, it’s not as tight as a standard 12” shelving unit but it’s pretty stable! If you would like pictures you can email us directly at [email protected]. So to directly answer your question: YES, it fits the 12 inch ELFA Shelving System.

Question:	How deep are the shelves? (seems like a very basic fact that's omitted in the description
Answer:	The shelves are 11" to 11 5/8" deep. Labeled "A" and "B", shelves are designed to overlap, a feature I liked because it eliminates the need to cut the shelves to fit. The brackets have two staggered slots in back in which to snap the shelves. I thought the slight difference in the shelf front might bother me (I'm pretty particular), but I don't even notice it now that the shelves are loaded. Total distance from the wall is about 12 1/4 to 12 5/8".
Question:	Can someone please tell me what the width from the wall would be with a hanger on the rod? Thanks in advance

Answer:	It comes with just that single strip of wood you screw into the wall under the bottom. I haven’t had that issue

Answer:	An easier option would be to cut 4 inches from one shelf and the hanging rods to be used on that side. Both are easy to do and are detailed in the instructions.

Question:	I've seen that the wire racks can be cut. Can the hanger rods also be cut down? If so, with what tool
Answer:	Certainly, I used an angle grinder (rough cut) because my hack saw blade was shot. Certainly a bandsaw, hacksaw or similar will work fine. Either way I would suggest a wire brush to deburr the sharp edges.
Question:	My closet is more or less 6 feet wide, should i get the 4-6 model or the 5-8 model
Answer:	That's the same length as my closet. I bought the 4 to 6 version. It comes with i extra hanging bar and since my configuration is smaller it gave me more room to hang product. I have two sections of side hung tops over two sections of side hung bottoms and a single side hang for longer items (dress and coats, etc.).
