Answer: They can sit individually by themselves but to be one whole unit they have to be hooked on a strip attached to the wall. Love ours

Answer: I have not pushed it, The most I have in one is ~ 1/2 pound. Limited due to space / the items I'm storing. For sure under a pound should be ok. Not to say they would not hold more weight, just not how I'm using them.
Question: Would these work for mobile applications as far as staying locked into the peg board while driving
Answer: I'd say that's questionable. I doubt for anything "heavy". But if it's a lot of little stuff, if that fell.... I'd try it. They'd still work good for other applications if they don't work for that.

Question: Would the xl size work to be mounted to a bulletin board to hold files? Or to hold receipts
Answer: We love them and use them to hold makeup pallets, sprays, and cleaners. I am sure you could hold files, but because they are only about 4 inches high, if it is top-heavy it may not work. If it is more items that fall to the bottom of the folder, you should be fine.
Question: Is the industrial grey more black or grey
Answer: Definitely grey. Not black. Not a light grey, but grey. Nice look. I suppose you could spray them black if desired.
Question: Would this work on a wall in an RV that is not a thick wall, more like a board? I would like to mount it near my cooktop for oils, s&p, spices, etc
Answer: Thank you for your interest in our products. Our Vintage Wall Mount Storage Basket. Our baskets were designed to be mounted to studs, or solid wood boards. Depending on the makeup of the walls of your RV this could work if the board is solid wood. A thin board that is not wood would not work well. Happy Shopping.
Question: How much weight can the extra large basket safely hold
Answer: I don't really know as I haven't tested it by adding specific weights. It isn't too big to really put too much weight in it. Most likely, the screws, drywall, or plaster would give before the basket does. It's pretty well made overall and could probably easily hold 25 lbs as a guess. Again, the screws and other mounting options will really dictate the strength. If it's well braced, I'd imagine it would help (even adding a little bracket to the bottom would probably help). Throw away the plastic drywall anchors and either get the large metal ones or to screw it in directly to wood.
