Answer:	Overall Outside Length = 22.75" Overall Outside Width = 16.25" Overall Outside Depth = 10.625" There is a ridge around the top rim that sticks out about 0.5", so the inside dimensions are closer to 21.75" x 15.25 at the top. The sides taper down so the bottom of the container is 20" x 13.75"

Answer:	The lids are sturdy, however, I wouldn't put more than 20/25 pounds on top of them. To give you an idea, I have three containers stacked one on top of the other and each is packed to the rim with heavy winter clothing and coats. Each container is easily 20 pounds and I've had zero issues with the lids' support.

Answer:	Have used these for papers and cloth for 2 years inside and in garage with no problem. We do have a pro spray for bugs each month, so no bug issues.

And I haven't tried legal size, but since there is a ridge, lengthwise too, it seems they were meant to hold legal as well because the interior is 15" (so for 14' paper plus half inch folder hanger on each side.) Lovell (on Amazon, under 'hanging file folders) sells a file folder box for $10 with no gasket- as do other mfgs at about the 10-14 dollar price. But the Sterlite, at 4 for $50 prime- are $12.50 each (including shipping) and with the water, dust and pest-resistant gasket - and secure locking top, seems the much greater value, for safe hanging file storage. I've used mine for years now, and I love them. Attractive see-through safe storage at a decent price. :)
