The cup that you slide onto the trunk of the tree is about 5" in diameter and it is rounded at the bottom. I just put my tree up today and I have about a 7' Fraser Fir, the cup slid nicely onto the trunk but any thicker and I would have had to shave some off. |

Once I figured that out it was A LOT eaiser. |
