Answer:	No, my tv remote also does it too, it only does it if it’s in the same room. It’s because of the infrared (ir) signals put out by TV remotes and they are similar to those on the light controller.

Question:	How long does the battery last
Answer:	It doesn't have a battery - you plug it in. If you're referring to the battery in the remote, it's a cell battery and in my experience they rarely die. I've only had a couple actually die on me after a few years of use, but I always tend to have cell batteries on hand. They are easy to change and even with daily use they last a long time.

Answer:	Good question. The two concerns I would have are: 1. If gluing must use their expensive stuff but if nailing or similar, should stay down. 2. Over time, where the rubber is bent around the stair edge, would it split open? Even home center stair treads at pre molded . Seems this product was designed to lay flat. I would call them and ask. Answer:	We were able to put it in our driveway outside and pull in and out everyday without wear and tear. We had a car (our sons) that leaked oil onto it daily, and that is what finally did the mat in. The sun and heat and oil combo eventually made it wear out. The driving on and off it did no damage at all.
