Answer:	I've attempted straight blade swapping before and the motor drive is matched to the blade size. Putting "too big" blades taxes the motor and it doesn't turn efficiently or as fast and the motor makes noise. I suspect it overheats and has a shorter life but I just swapped back when I saw the results. On the fan with "too short blades" it rotated very fast but outside of that seemed ok.

Answer:	They aren't name-brand Cherry switches, but an off-brand equivalent. I haven't opened the keyboard to confirm, but for the cost i'd be very surprised if the switches weren't soldered in place. So, you *should* be able to swap them if you want to do soldering, but they aren't likely hot-swappable.
