| Answer: | I did follow their recipe from their website the first time I made it, and the kettle corn came out dry and not sweet at all. I have adjusted to make it very much like what you get out of the giant copper kettles at street fairs.my recipe - prep all items prior to starting:1) Add 1/4 c (4 TBS) veg oil to whirly pop + 3 kernels - heat on high until you hear the kernels pop.2) Add 1/2 c of popcorn kernels + 1/2 cup sugar and 1-2 tsp salt (pre-mix the sugar and salt).3) Start turning the agitator - it will take about 2 min for it to get hot enough for the popping to start - and do not stop until it is done. You will know it is done when you hear a significant reduction in popping and/or it becomes very difficult to turn the agitator.4) remove from heat immediately.5) pour out onto a cookie sheet with a cooling rack on top of it, and then transfer to a big bowl, breaking up chunks and being sure to remove kernels. It takes me two rounds of this to transfer all popcorn over.6) ENJOY!7) clean up - hot soapy water and a scrub brush - there will be sugar crusted on all surfaces, but a soak and scrub cleans it right up.NOTE: I use mushroom kernels as they create a huge fluff to be coated when popped. |

Here’s how it works: when your popcorn has finished popping, remove the pan from the stove and add your desired ingredients through the lid-inset, silicone-covered flavor port. Turn the crank to combine; blunt metal blades push the corn against the stationary baffle to thoroughly mix in your fixings.
