Answer:	I don't have any metallic taste in my ice cubes, so apparently the filter is doing its job properly. One thing I did when I replaced the filter was to replace the flexible lines from the supply pipe to the filter and from the filter to the refrigerator. If you haven't done this, perhaps you should consider doing so.

Answer:	I believe the salt taste in water softeners is from salt being dissolved in the water. I also believe that filters remove particles from water, not chemicals dissolved in the water. So, I don't believe that this filter will remove the salt taste from water softeners. This may or may not be accurate, but it's my belief.

Answer:	well you could filter salt water with it, but it still wouldn't be potable to humans =)

Answer:	You'll have to go on the data sheet from the manufacturer on the filter fiber diameter since no consumer can reasonably measure the filter tube diameters. And you'll have to do research on bad virus sizes to determine if those viruses will be blocked. But I'll say as a consumer of this filter over twelve days on the trail, serving 4 people (48 people-days) on the AT, no gastro-issues. And the filtering flow rate is amazingly fast.

Answer:	Everything that you see illustrated. There are two reservoirs, the filter and the hose. The only thing not included is the optional carbon filter which isn't neccessary. If you do opt to purchase the carbon filter, keep in mind that it slows down the filtration time drastically.

Answer:	This unit uses the standard ice maker diameter hose. It is best to put the the supplied valve as close to source as possible. You would need a t adapter BEFORE the supplied valve in order to split off two ways to the fridge and to the valve. This t adapter is not supplied and the supplied valve may not fit your American piping. Be prepared to make adjustments to the installation. Installation was not hard, but patience and a trip to the hardware store should be expected. It is important to make the water split before the valve because the flow will have to be turned off many times during installation, if there is a leak and when flushing the filters. Otherwise, you are cutting water off the fridge unnecessarily.

Answer:	Yes it does. The lid also works on regular five gallon buckets in case the first one flies out the back of your truck...like mine did. But if you use a different five, you will probably have to saw off the strengthening rim around the side. Overall the lid goes on well and basically snaps into place. We always have cat litter in it for absorbance. Don't fill it too full. We only use it for one night. It was a good buy and worth the money

Como la unidad de vidrio RECHARGE contiene aproximadamente dos galones, puede hacer unos 50 rellenos antes de tener que reemplazar el filtro PH001.
