Answer:	Hello Daniel, great questions thanks for asking! The KDF-55 Media creates a bacteriostatic environment within the filtration system, preventing microbial growth. The oxidation/reduction potential (ORP) shift by a factor of -300mV or more for water filtered through KDF redox media controls microorganism growth. Treating water reduces bacteria and other microorganisms by disrupting electron transport, causing cellular damage. KDF process media also kill bacteria by direct electrochemical contact and by the flash formation of hydroxyl radicals and hydrogen peroxide, both of which interfere with a microorganism's ability to function. When it comes to fluoride, it only reduces the levels by 20-30% on average, not a high enough percentage for us to claim as a benefit.

Answer:	According to the product description its capacity is "30 sheets." I measured our office paper and that's about 4mm, or about 1/8 of an inch. The description I found of the replacement cutting head for the 440 said that it cuts up to 7 sheets of paper at a time, so it might require 4 passes.

Answer:	While there is no guide to show where the blade is going to cut, on the rolling style trimmers it is very easy to see where the cut will be. It is just beyond the clear plastic clamp that the paper slides under. You can roll the cutting head slightly toward your material and see where that exact cut will be.

Remove the aerator if the faucet has one, and determine if your faucet has inner threads or outer threads.

Installation Step 2

For faucets with internal threads, use the metal adapter and 2 sealing washers to connect the diverter valve to the faucet. For faucets with external threads, place the sealing washer into the diverter valve of the filter and connect to the faucet.

The device's main component (filters & ionizer) is mounted on the wall of the cabinet under the sink while the touch screen controls & dispenser are mounted above or beside the sink. To install the filters, open the door cover (under the sink), gently tilt the bottom of the filter outward from the vertical angle to about a 40 degree angle, twist the filter cartridge about a 1/4 turn, and pull downward. WARNING! The Tyent UCE-11 Under Counter Water Ionizer filters install in a clock-wise direction. Other filters are the reverse. Question:	Does the filter that comes with it take out fluoride, or do you need to buy another filter for that
Answer:	Yes, the filter takes out fluoride. That's why I bought this in the first place. The only "catch" - if you want to make sure the fluoride is taken out, you'll need to replace the filter more often, about once every 3 months I think. It will produce great-tasting water for quite a bit longer, but you can't be sure that the fluoride is gone after that. I called them up when I first started using this filter and they explained that to me.

Answer:	Nope, the NSF certification the person referred to above is only for the housing, not the filter media or it's claims. It pays to actually read these things.

Answer:	From what I have read it should not but if the PH of your water is to high it may cause a small amount of leaching. This small amount is lower than the toxic levels. Question:	How come this has not been certified by NSF? How will I know it is really removing all the toxins without a third-party verifier
Answer:	43 years in the business, former lab director, certified water plant operator, on and on. To me NSF certified means squat. Some of the worst filters on the market are NSF certified. All it takes is common sense to get good results. A lot of activated carbon, slow flow rate, replace at least once per year and bingo - high removals. It's not magic. There are NSF certifications that have nothing to do with treatment and just structural quality. Deal with a reputable company with real treatment specialists. One thing that worries me a lot is that it takes a lot of activated carbon of decent quality to get good treatment. By doing away with some of the carbon and replacing it with another media lowers the effectiveness quite a bit. A separate filter with the aluminate (and it takes a lot to be effective for fluoride removal) would be better. Also, fluoride can be added at the utility company using a variety of chemicals and aluminate does not cover all those different varieties. I recommend using that housing but replacing the cartridge with a better one and forget about fluoride removal. This is not the right way to remove it. Use a solid block carbon cartridge, 1/2 micron block nominal is fine, preferably with a better carbon than coconut shell that is slow reacting and is not good for color removal, that contains heavy metal removal.

Will this filter remove 100% of the fluoride?

No, it will remove up to 93% of fluoride under the stated operating conditions. It is important to note that the media used to remove fluoride – activated alumina – is contact dependent. This means that by increasing the amount of time the water spends in the media, more of the contaminant will be removed. Operating the system at less than the maximum flow rate improves the contact time and increase the removal rate.

Is the filter replaceable?

Yes, it contains a replaceable filter cartridge. Change it every 3 months or 500 gallons, whichever comes first. A wrench is not needed to open the housing. We have a newly redesigned filter cartridge that ensures the filter fits snugly without leaks and produces great tasting water. Replacement filter part number: CFF25-10

Can I test the filter performance with a TDS meter?

Not really. TDS is a measure of total dissolved solids - the bulk of which are calcium and magnesium minerals, which this filter leaves intact. As a result very little, if any, change in TDS is to be expected. A better option is to use chlorine test strips, and view that result as a surrogate indicator for the filter’s overall performance.

Question:	Does it change the PH of the water to make it more Alkaline
Answer:	I cant really say as we were looking to replace getting bottle water delivery (7-8 bottles delivered monthly) for a family of four. We were hoping the tap water would closely resemble the bottled spring water (PolSprg brand) and it does. WE had this now for a couple of month's and are happy with it's performance thus far. So if you like PS you dont get after taste or Alkaline from what are tap water was like before using this system.

Question:	Anyone utilize this system on a municipal water supply that is very *very* hard? Is it effective? How is filter performance/lifespan affected
Answer:	I live in an area where water is very hard. The filter doesn't remove the calcium. I can see that while boiling the filtered water; have to clean the boiler every day if I don't want to have any sediment in my tea. I find the Berkey filter more effective.
Question:	Has anybody tested this system with a TDS meter? That is the only way to really know how good of a job it is doing. If the reading is 20 or less, then it is comparable to an RO filter. If it's much higher than 20, don't waste your money
Answer:	Yes I did test this system with the TDS meter and was very disappointed. The readings were exactly the same as what came out of the tap. I called Brondell and they informed me that was how it's supposed to be. Their system is apparently designed to only remove the bad taste...not the dissolved solids...well in my case it did neither. The water still tasted bad and the TDS reading was just as high as the tap. Our water is so bad here, typical readings from 450-800+ so it may just be that filters don't work here. I gave up on filters after trying many and ordered delivered water from Culligan.

Answer:	PEX is just a supply line. It is an excellent product and would have no affect on using this filter system since all connections are made after the shut off valves under the sink. Now if you choose to put a filter inline and not at the valve, then special PEX brass connectors will be needed along with a PEX tool for installation.
Question:	How often do you need to change the filter
Answer:	Hi dear customer, The filtration capacity for Chlorine is 5000G, and filtration life for LEAD is 1000G, so the filter life can be 1-3 years depend on your daily usage and it can even be 3 years, but we won’t suggest you do the cartridge change that long. As you know the filtration performance is dropping gradually when time goes by, so the longer time you use, the less good water you get. The best time is 1 year or less, the filter cartridge maintenance is much cheaper than the other brands, so it will still save you a lot of money even you change often. Frizzlife suggest no matter what brand of water filtration you will get, do not use that for over 3 years not changing the cartridge, the performance of filtering will be very very low.

Question:	what is the size of the diverter valve
Answer:	The size of the diverter valve is about 1 and 3/4 inches long and about 3/4 of an inch in outside diameter, which is perfect in relation to the whole system and is very easy to connect to the kitchen faucet and is not bulky so it will not be in the way when washing pots and dishes.
Question:	Does this filter remove contaminants from the water such as e-coli
Answer:	I have the CT-2000 countertop unit which reduces contaminants and bacteria like e-coli. To answer your question, the CT-1000 model does not list reduction of bacteria like e-coli on the specification table.

Answer:	CT-2000 is not designed to remove TDS from the water so would not be testing for that. It is designed to remove chemicals such as chlorine, pesticides, vocs. We have incorporated a self-clean ozone function which will automatically clean the machine’s water tank with the injection of ozone by the press of a switch. The dispensing area is 10x2. 5x9. 5 inches with 7. 5 inches of space below the spouts. The water cooler is UL listed and complies with all standards of Energy Star. Answer:	One small water in tube and one A/C cord. Use cable management options.
Question:	How much room dos it need for ventilation? Could this be kept in a cabinet and pulled out when needed
Answer:	i love love my water dispenser. the instructions does call for ventilation so i'm not sure about the cabinet; there's venting on both sides so it does not need a lot of space. i have saved $$$ and plastic by investing in this awesome machine.

Question:	Will this work properly connected to a reverse osmosis filter
Answer:	The water cooler has a water inlet connector. I would suggest that you place the reverse osmosis filtration system in line before the water cooler. As long as you can connect the water outlet of the reverse osmosis filtration system to the inlet of the water cooler there should be no reason for it to not work properly. You would definitely want to be sure that you have a shut off valve connected to your reverse osmosis outlet placed prior to the connection to the water cooler because maintenance of the cooler can entail disconnecting from the water source.
