Answer:	It comes apart some and the gaskets come off. But I've never completely took it apart. Had to take it apart to clean the hot chocolate out of it. It does come with directions to take it apart.

Answer:	I would counter that the lid is almost too difficult to get off. The screw cap should have a textured finish. If your hands are wet, you would not be able to get the lid off. Great thermos though.
Question:	Where is it manufactured
Answer:	I bought two--a black tumbler and a silver one--and both leaked badly from the start, which caused me no shortage of problems. I ended up purchasing a Contigo Autoseal Transit mug to take with me, and it prevents spills better than anything I've owned. That said, I hate it. While the Contigo is utterly spill-proof, it's a pain to drink out of and it doesn't keep the coffee warm for anywhere near as long as the Thermos due to very thin metal with no vacuum where the top of the cup meets the lid. As a result, the metal conducts the heat right out of the coffee and into the air (or your thumb if you're not careful). The Thermos, on the other hand, while it's been a disaster for me in terms of spills, keeeps coffee warm for around 6 hours and is still my favorite tumbler to drink from. I have no idea why something with a leaky lid would retain heat so well, but it does.

Answer:	I have an older thermos that I have used for work for over 30 years. I believe it was made in Tennessee. Several years ago I got a new one made in China. The products made in China are far inferior to the ones that were made in the US. I have broken the stopper a couple of times but they are relatively easy to find on eBay. The US-made Thermos bottles definitely keep drinks warmer longer.

Answer:	The 1.1 quart thermos is made in China. Please ignore the nonsense about lead. 18/8 stainless has no lead--it's chromium and nickel, so if you are sensitive to nickel, you should be aware that nearly all stainless steel has this issue. The potential for lead is at the solder points. The only solder points visible on this thermos are the handle attachments, but they are powder coated, just like the rest of the exterior. In other words, there is no lead danger from this thermos whatsoever.

Answer:	I received the 20 oz tumbler with magslider lid for Christmas. It is NOT leak proof. If it turns over or is tilted in your purse or bag, it will and does leak! I just called YETI (01/02/2018) in Austin, Texas and asked about this and they confirmed it is not leak proof. If you need something leak proof, they said to get a YETI with the scree on lid! The magslider is not a good product if you need something that does not leak.

Answer:	I left coffee in my mug for several weeks (misplaced the mug) and the smell inside was horrible, even after going through hot water washes/soaking/dishwasher. But I got it brand new again, here’s how: OxyClean is amazing for removing coffee and tea stains, and all smells, from stainless, mugs, whatever. It was great on the hard plastic parts as well. The silicone circular gasket and plug on the too inside of the lid were what stunk the worst, and nothing helped, even prolonged soaks and scrubbing in OxyClean. But they are SILICONE, and the internet taught me that the best way to get smells out of silicone is by baking it (thanks, Instapot owners!) I placed the silicone pieces on a small baking sheet in my oven at 350 degrees F, and baked for about 30 minutes. The smell baked right out of them; it was amazing!

Answer:	In my car (a 2013 Hyundai), it does not fit very well. It sort of just sits on top of it but won't fit all the way down into the cup holder. That is one (small) drawback.

Answer:	Some of you guys writing how it leaks a little or a lot must be chimpanzees. DON’T FILL TO THE VERY TOP, ONLY FILL BELOW THE THREADS!!! First off, it does not leak. I’ve tested it by shaking flipping upside down then open and unscrew the cap. The most you get is a couple of drop and that’s only after shaking the lid! Second thing, it keeps hot liquids nice and warm up to the 19th hour! I tested this by heating up water nice and hot then left the thermos outside at 1pm temperature being 55 F. Over night temps fell down to 36 degrees. This morning checked the thermos at 8am (19 hours later). Water was nice and warm after 19 hours. You won’t go wrong buying the THERMOS! Customer service is good as well. I had a leakage problem with another of their 16 oz product. This product was made for people with arthritis of which I was not aware when I bout it so each time I used with coffee and I would tip it over be accident while driving, coffee would leak out the ‘open and close’ clip while on the closed position. It was designed that way in order to open easy for people with arthritis in their hands. So the customer service rep understood my concern and was kind enough to send me a new lid that was designed to be leak proof and a little tighter to open and close the clip for people with no arthritis. Answer:	This is more of a big mug thermos. You can see in the photo that there's a button you push that pops the lid up so you can drink straight from the bottle. The only downside to this bottle is that it's so big that it doesn't fit into a cup holder, but for my job where I work 12 hours it's great, because it allows me to have easy access to hot tea for the entirety of my shift.btw. Answer:	No. the mechanism that snaps shut to seal the drink hole when open does not allow enough room for a straw. You would have to remove the lid.

Answer:	Good luck. I had to buy a whole new one cuz they don’t sell just the seal and all of the lids are different from each other.

Answer:	For me, the snapseal is better. Both will provide a complete seal with no spilling. The auto seal mechanism means the mug is always sealed, and you depress a button to activate a spring mechanism to allow flow through the spout. The snapseal you flip up and it opens, but it stays open until you flip the mechanism down. Here is why the snapseal is better - over time the spring mechanism in the autoseal will accumulate "coffee product" in and around the spring, which is difficult to clean without completely disassembling the lid. The snapseal doesn't accumulate this material, and is much easier to clean because it is a simpler mechanism overall.

Answer:	I am now on my 4th 16 oz. Contigo travel mug and the last 3 , the seals were the problem as they start to leak and then the seals came out. I just ordered the 3rd one in June 2020 and the seal just fell out yesterday in October 2020. If this one does the same thing, I will not buy another one of these Contigo travel mugs.

Answer:	I do not have an aeropress, so I am not positive. The opening to my mugs are just a touch under 3" (2 15/16" to be exact). If the base of the aeropress fits & sits comfortably within this space, then it might work for you.

Answer:	It all depends where you place the lid to screw it on. I do not give it any thought. Some times it is a perfect 90 degree angle and sometimes it may be a 50+ angle. Either way It get to my mouth whether I use my right hand or my left hand . What was important to me is the fact it keeps my coffee hot for 6 hours and warm for 10 hours.
Question:	Is it 5 hr hot or 7 hr hot capacity? Image indicates it's 7 hour, description says it's 5 hrs. There is usually a dramatic price difference, hence Q
Answer:	Curious about that too, I conducted an experiment. I started with water at 175 degrees. Closed it and checked the temp after 5 hours. The temperature of the water was at 140 degrees. At 7 hours the temperature declined to 125 degrees. Still hot in my opinion. Keep in mind, with normal use, you are opening & closing the thermos vents to drink, so with that consideration, it would probably cool down more, but not in the extreme. Hope this helps. R.
