The Kinsho Story

kinsho is the self-knowledge and intuition gleaned from our many food experiences. We access these insights by paying attention.

Heather Sears started Kinsho after writing her 4x award-winning book, Mind to Mouth: A Busy Chick’s Guide to Mindful Meals.

She had found her increasingly mindless food habits and smart phone addiction had her choking during triple-tasking work lunches and making unhealthy (but fast!) food choices for herself and family.

She found that integrating mindful moments around food – shopping, prep and eating – helped her increase the healthfulness and pleasure of each bite. It also deepened her self-knowing as new food preferences emerged and old habits slipped away.

Additionally, she found that certain foodware designs were more helpful and enjoyable - such as bento boxes with specific design elements that support attentive eating, easier incorporation of a variety of food and healthier portions.

Kinsho creates well-designed reusable products and shares tips on bento meal prep and how mealtime mindfulness can support a deeper connection not just with the food we eat, but with ourselves, family and friends.
