Answer:	I disagree with the previous answer to this question --these containers (at least the ones I got) are NOT air tight They only have latches on the "shorter" sides of the lid. The longer sides remain loose, and are definitely not air-tight, even when the latches are locked. These containers are not suited for longer term storage of things that will get damaged by humidity. I bought them because I believed the previous answer to this question, but that was a mistake.

Answer:	We use our hot dog steamer at our Cafe and we had 80 hot dogs at one time, it might take about 30 minutes to warn up the hot dogs once the steamer is ready. About the hot dog buns, never tried putting them wraped up in it, it takes about two minutes and you better get them out or they will get soggy. So load up the buns as you start to serve, you should have the next batch ready by the time you served the first one. We turn the heat down if the hot dogs are going to stay longer then one hour or they will over cook. Hope this helps.

The vent under the handle on the Rubbermaid brilliance allows for a "burping" through said steam vent and I assume that is what you are referencing. So I believe the question is "Do these have a vent under the handle to allow steam to escape or allow trapped gasses within the container to escape without removing the cover entirely?" I think people were thinking the old Tupperware style where the plastic was flexible… lol

Answer:	there is a lot of space in these containers. Depending on the size of your cup cakes I estimate you can fit 3 x 5 or 6 cup cakes (15 to 18) in the container.
