Answer:	Unsure about rice or oatmeal, but with regards to flour (all purpose, bread, biscuit mix (the white bag w/black lettering that simply says, 'Biscuit Mix'), always put it in the freezer upon purchase & leave it in the freezer for 24-48hrs. This is recommended by a lot of flour companies & mills. Once you make it thru the freezer's 24-48hrs you should be fine to add it into sealed containers w/o issue.

Answer:	Yes! I regularly go straight from the freezer into the Instant Pot or oven. I don't preheat the oven first, container goes from freezer to oven, then I turn the oven on. 5+ years of doing this and not a break yet!

Answer:	The description says 1.9 quarts (that would be liquid measurement) so just under 1/2 gallon. How many cookies will depend on the size of the cookies since they aren't liquid. You could try cutting off the top of a 1/2 gallon milk carton and checking how many cookies will fit in that space. As for shipping, the canisters are very sturdy and 100% air tight, but so are zip lock bags and they are much less expensive.

Answer:	my son who is the person I bought them for says they can take some water but he is not sure about the boots in flooding situations, He has not had that experience . They are not advertised as water proof but so far (rain ) he has not had a problem.
