Answer:	Hello, there is no knob. Nor is there a pin that's visible. As you're looking at the holder, the end of the arm sits flush with the right side of the bracket. That end of the arm really doesn't appear to be any wider than the rest of the arm. However the arm will only move maybe 1/4" max to the right inside the bracket and that's it. I purchased this in Nov. '19, and have it attached horizontally to a shelf in my bathroom. It works great - the top arm stays put and the paper towels are held securely on the bottom arm. Hope this helps.
