Answer:	I wouldn't use any solid or dry form of fertilizer in a wet system. I use a SIP system, self irrigated planter. The roots can grow past the cloth medium into the water reservoir below. My SIP uses coco to hep wick water below into planter container. The SIP has a float for gravity fed water to ensure reservoir stays full. If I were going pure hydro like a flood and drain I'd make sure I am pumping oxygen into my reservoir and I would use worm castings leachate to feed the plants. But I don't care for pumps that can fail or electricity that goes out, that's why I stick to my SIP.
