Question:	I have held mine down for 5 seconds an nothing happened then I tried to hold it down longer nothing happened. What am I doing wrong
Answer:	I use setting 3. It should be enough for most plastic bags. It depends on how often do you use it. I've sealed over 3000 bags and still on my first kit.
Question:	The description calls it a vaccuum sealer but the reviews only mention resealing chip bags, which would not be vaccuumed. So...does it vaccuum
Answer:	No, it is just for sealing bags.

Answer:	Yes on the air channel. As for re-use, I've done it with little effort. Size is my problem on re-use and the fact that I usually initially seal something messy. Hope this helps.

Question:	What bag can be sealed
Answer:	I haven't used Gripstics so I don't know if they are any different. I am very happy with these bag sealers. They work well to seal bags and keep things fresh. Like the size assortment too. With the large quantity, I kept half and gave my son half to use at his house.
Question:	How wide a bag can this seal? I'm looking to seal 7 inch bags
Answer:	5.75 inches long x 3.5 inches at widest, accommodates handles up to 1.25 inches wide.
Question:	Is it easy to reopen a bag that you used to seal it
Answer:	Just checked it out - if the lid is not on the stand, and the handle of the utensil is long enough to rest on the center rod, then they will, but it is precarious for spoons but spatulas are easier. On the other hand, the bottom to one side is adequate for resting lids in and the other side for resting utensils in that are laying in them (as in the photo). I tend to put the spoons in flat (as shown) or upside down, but put spatula type utensils with the edge in the rest and the handle laying on the counter the other direction (away from the center rod in front). I do have a spoon holder so usually only use this stand for lids and spatulas. I saw it first at my sister in law's house, and loved it so much I got two, and will get another if anything ever happens to these! I use these for heavy glass lids, including my 5 qt crock pot lids. I believe the lid shown would be the size of a 2 qt saucepan, but my oversized frying pan lid sits on it just fine.
Question:	How to use
Answer:	the nuts on mine do not reach the counter. The flat bottom of the lid rest and the spoon rest are the support on the counter. No scratching. Could use the cork disks, but I don't think its's needed.
