Answer:	Hi Dana, this is a good question! The thickness of the clear side is 3 mil and the embossed side is 11 mil. Thanks to the 10-year experience of manufacturing vacuum sealer bags, we can make these bags thin and clear while maintaining similar mechanical toughness with the 4 mil bags out there.

Answer:	The only bags on Amazon that even mention their plastic thickness advertise 4mil. There is no way this plastic is 13.5 mil. These bags are great and they work, but if you are storing dry goods and there is the slightest point on any of the contents, you will puncture the bag if you have a decent sealer unit.

Cut it, seal one end, put your food in it, vacuum and seal it, done! Also, we have 11 inches rolls (11"x50') and pre-cut bags in pint (6"x10"), quart (8"x12") and gallon (11"x16") sizes. Answer:	I didn't notice any smell or anything like that. I used them recently while I was moving and they worked great! The jumbo bag held 4 pillows, my king size comforter 2 sheet sets and a couple small blankets. In my opinion it was well worth the money!!

Question:	Anyone else having problem crossing sealed lines? Have to use iron to flatten out
Answer:	There is nothing on the product that identifies where it was made. Their website, avidarmor.com lists a phone number that you could call to get any answers you need.

Answer:	Mine quite working. Melts bags instead of sealing. NO response from company about problem.

Answer:	Yes, the brown strip stays on. Make sure you have the bag flat when you slide it in, but not too far. you can always reseal a bag if you didn't get it the first time fully. Just pop it open for a few seconds before next bag, hit cancel button if you need to before,during or after and it will stop.

Answer:	sous vide says you can even use zip lock if you want so not sure if zip lock might melt ugly on the heated surface . but you could use the bags that are supplied with the machine for sous vide .

Question:	Do these bags have texture or text on them? I'm looking for a totally smooth and plain bag
Answer:	These bags have to have a "texture" on the inside of one side in order to work. That "texture" is the channels that air flows out when the vacuum is applied. If you used smooth bags, the air would get trapped as the bag compressed and it would not work. Thus, there is no such thing as vacuum bags that do not have texture on one side. You can get ZipLok bags, but they are not vacuum bags.
Question:	Can i use this for coffee beans? I will not freeze it, just trying to keep fresh it
Answer:	I used to roast my own coffee, purchasing green beans and roasting them in a drum roaster in my backyard. Just after roasting, and I’m talking minutes, I would vacuum seal the beans and store them in a deep freezer. They would not gas off with CO2 while in storage, and after they were taken out of the freezer and allowed to come to room temp., they would gas off CO2, and the bag would puff up, but in 10+ years of roasting I never had a vacuum bag rupture. Also, when sealing the bag immediately after roasting I would manually stop the vacuum just short of maximum vacuum so that any sharp edges on some of the roasted beans would not cut through the plastic. I’ve done it this way for years without a problem. I can’t imagine someone purchasing coffee already roasted would have a problem with CO2 gassing off.
Question:	Will these fit into the bag holder of the foodsaver model FM
Answer:	FoodVacBags will not usually fit in the bag holder of many FoodSaver models because our rolls are 50 feet and the holders are meant to hold only about 20 feet of roll. One tip you can use to make this work is to wrap about 20 feet of roll around an old core and then it should fit great in the holder. You then will have 30 more feet to use at a later time. A little upfront work for a lot of great savings!

Answer:	They are probably made of another estrogenic plastic like Low Density Polyethlene (LDPE) which is a thermoplastic made from petroleum. Years ago it was not studied enough to know if it leached any toxic chemical so the claim, not known to leach, was considered as one of the safest. It is commonly used in beverage, food, and other liquid containers. Or from Polyethylene nylon blends which are considered mixed plastics. Nylon itself is different than plastics. It is derived from coal, ammonia, water, organic acids and contains nitrogen. Nylon food packaging in boiling water causes oligimers and caprolactum to migrate. Need exact oligimer formulas to look at their toxicity but caprolactum has human health concerns and has these risk and safety phrases in the European Union hazard system: Harmful by inhalation and if swallowed. Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. Keep out of the reach of children. Volatile and non-volatile compounds were found to migrate into olive oil at 350 degrees F for 1 h. The main problem with poly nylon materials and others is that manufacturers are often unwilling to disclose the full formulations and additives.According to several new studies and University of Texas at Austin Biology Professor George D. Bittner, avoiding BPA does not mean that you are safe from exposure to chemicals in plastics that are endocrine disruptors or have estrogenic activity (EA). BPA and phthalates are just two of several thousand chemicals that exhibit EA including many BPA derivatives that are more estrogenic than BPA. These chemicals leach from almost all plastics sold today, including some of the so-called safe plastics like polyethylene (HDPE or LDPE), polypropylene and PET. Answer:	Large: 24 x 32"; Medium: 20 x 28"; Small 16 x 24". There is no x-large in this set.
Question:	For ppl who have owned this product for long how long did these stay deflated for you if at all ? What is there long term performance
Answer:	I'm lovingly called "picky Patty", so I'll attest to the quality and performance of this product. It's been 2 months and 6 large quilts remain at the bottom of my linen closet sealed perfectly tight. These quilts are large and heavy and I might have squeezed two in that closet but, due to this amazingly great bag I have all of them in there and it's neat as a pin!!! I'm ordering the smaller size as I want to see how they works for traveling, I'm impressed!!!!!
Question:	will it loose the compretion after some time
Answer:	I have been using Space Saver bags for a very long time and I haven't ever had a problem with the storage bags reinflating or any pin holes. I'm a savage when I pack them and use the vacuum or traveling pump and promptly to place the lid back on. I also prefer to storage them in plastic bins. I think that helps a lot.
