Answer: | The limit is determined by initial water temperature, food mass, and thermal losses. If you are asking because you want to cook a larger volume of food than will fit into a 50 liter insulated container, then you should probably be looking for a commercial unit with a larger heater (maybe 3 to 5KW). If you are interested because you happen to have a larger insulated cooler and want to use it to cook at modest temperatures (below 160°F), then I would run a thermal test on your cooler by filling it with 160°F water, instrumenting it with a type K thermocouple (or a few) and watch how fast the water temperature drops with no added heat. A 1KW sous vide cooker will supply 3413 BTU/hr and 50 liters of water is approximately 53 lb and thus a 1°F temperature drop is a 53 BTU thermal loss and if the temperature drops by more than 30-35°F in the first hour, then you have too much loss to actually cook in that container since you need 500W to do the cooking while the rest of the power goes to makeup for losses. You can scale this to whatever size container you want to test so long as you leave 500W available to heat the food after offsetting the conductive and convective losses. |

In terms of cook, as long as you are operating the device within its specified range there should be zero impact. The answers about using less heat electricity are also misleading. I see no reason to believe that the nano is more efficient at creating heat per watt of power. Thus, for the same quantity of water both a 750 and a 900 would, for all intents and purposes, use the same power over the cook period. |

Answer: | Dear, Cause: Water is below the minimum level. When the water level falls below the MIN level mark on the cooker, it will trigger a sensor and the cooker will stop to anti-dry protection. Error code E3 will be shown on the device display. Notice that because of the water level different between inside and outside of the tube, E3 may be shown though water reach just above the MIN. Answer: | I had the same problem. It eventually did start and work again. Alas it eventually died altogether. I suspect it was an issue with the thermostat regulating the turning on and turning off of the water pump. I only good news is that when I responded to a request from VPCOK regarding their device and how it had failed, they offered to replace or refund. I had not requested a refund initially because I thought the warranty period had expired. They subsequently reimbursed me for the original purchase- no hassle. So if it does not start to work again or does eventually completely fail, contact the company-it seems that they are committed to satisfied customers |

Answer: | I haven't experimented with eggs, but I would suggest that you download the ChefSteps Joule App onto your phone, and then you can look at all the things within the app. I just looked up eggs, and aside from a bunch of recipes, you can go to the "Heavenly boiled eggs" recipe and set the temperature, which is variable depending on what you want. For example, their favorite is 194° which gives "tender whites and creamy yolks". I don't know how long you can keep them "at temperature", but at the end of the cooking time the app always tells you how long you can leave it. The app mentioned removing the eggs when done, so maybe you can't leave them as you can with meats, etc. |

Answer: | Yes. Take a magnet and see if it sticks to your pan. It won't stick to stainless steel or aluminum but we have some pans that have iron in the bottom layer it will stick to. We use the clip most of the time. Rule of thumb is that if a regular magnet won't stick the Joule won't stick. |

Answer: | Start the medium-well steak an hour before you start the medium rare. So begin at the higher temp for one hour, then lower the temp (you can add some ice cubes) to the medium rare temp, add the steak, and cook. The medium-well steak will not cook further, it will simply hold its done-ness until your medium-rare steak is done. Additionally, both steaks can sit in the water once completed until you're ready to serve. Simply remove from bags, pat dry and give them a quick sear for color. You're good to go. I do the same thing with veggies - I begin my veggies at a higher temp for an hour, then lower the temp and add my protein and cook accordingly. The veggies are always perfect, as are my proteins. |

Answer: | Joule utilizes both Bluetooth and wifi. As long as it is connected to your wifi network at home, Joule will continue to function with the app. I have had Joule cooking my food while I was away from home, at work, and the app will still connect to Joule over the cellular network. I have not tried turning my phone off while Joule and the app were running. I can only assume that Joule will either just continue the current task, or that it will pause and wait for you. |

Answer: | Since Joule is now compatible with Alexa, if the company ever ceases to update their app Alexa skill could be a workaround that wouldn’t require the Joule app. All youd need is WiFi and Alexa, and that’s not going outta style any time before the device croaks. Also, unlike other sous vide circulators Joule has the unique capability to update its firmware. So hopefully they’ll do the ethical thing and make their very last update to work w/o the app (tho it’ll be very frustrating, as the device itself does not have a screen and has only one button, thus its operation would definitely be very difficult and prone to user error every use.) These are just my plebeian logic…in theory. But…ChefSteps did have a separate app w/ much more recipes for everything you can think of, which they discontinued a while back. Perhaps they thought 1 app could serve both purposes, but now it’s just the 1 app and about 100 recipes available are solely limited to sous vide. Hope they will do right by their customers. Hope this helps a little. |

Answer: | I have done a few cooks with resealable bags and it works well as long as you get as much air out as possible and double bag otherwise it can leak and float so be ineffective. Also if you are planning on cooking meat the bags are very difficult to clean due to the fat so you might not be able to reuse. |

Steak Rare
1. Generously season the steak with salt and pepper.And Seal it with vacuum sealer bag.
2. Set the Bonsenkitchen Sous Vide Precision Cooker to 129ºF.
3. Place the bag in the water bath and set the timer for 2 hours.
4. Fry the steak and sear until well-browned, about 30 seconds per side.
Sous Vide Fish
1. Sprinkle salt and sugar all over the filets, using roughly one part sugar for every four parts salt. Let sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse off with cold water.
2. Then,add a generous amount of oil to a quart- or gallon-sized sealer bag.and seal it.

3. Place the bag in the water bath and set the timer for 1.5 Hours.
4. Fry the lobster until well-browned.
