Answer: I have done a few cooks with resealable bags and it works well as long as you get as much air out as possible and double bag otherwise it can leak and float so be ineffective. Also if you are planning on cooking meat the bags are very difficult to clean due to the fat so you might not be able to reuse.

Answer: Sous vide means “under vacume” The idea is that NO AIR is to be between the heated water and the product your heating. I think that eliminates stainless steel unless it is left open on the to and not submerged. If so why bother.

Answer: The rack sits fixed just below the lid. It keeps the sealed bags from floating above the rack. You must fill the container full, above the rack for it to work. I wish that it could do the same at different levels so that you could reduce amount of water in the container. But it does work. The bags are free to move about below the rack and water level. I do like the clear container and the ability to see the water level and the packages.
Question: Are trivets required? product info says no, instruction sheet with item says yes
Answer: The bottom has kind of a built in trivet. It’s raised with ridges, hard to explain. I still use a cork pad underneath to be safe. It’s so roomy and the top has a rubber gasket. I’m very happy with it.

Question: How do you know the temperature and time to cook the food
Answer: The Joule app works with any Sous Vide device. You can’t connect your device but the cook times and temps are accurate. Anova also has an app with visual guides for doneness. These apps were game changers for me when I first started out.

Answer: I'm sure it's fine. I reccomend covering the pot with plastic or something to avoid evaporation

Answer: Yes. The clamp is higher than the top of the mini, but the flat bottom of the circulator lets it easily stand in the inner pot--don't bump it. If you crave greater stability, get a free paint stir stick from a home improvement store, lay it on its long edge across the top of the pot and apply the clamp to it.

Answer: Dear, Cause: Water is below the minimum level. When the water level falls below the MIN level mark on the cooker, it will trigger a sensor and the cooker will stop to anti-dry protection. Error code E3 will be shown on the device display. Notice that because of the water level different between inside and outside of the tube, E3 may be shown though water reach just above the MIN. Answer: I had the same problem. It eventually did start and work again. Alas it eventually died altogether. I suspect it was an issue with the thermostat regulating the turning on and turning off of the water pump. I only good news is that when I responded to a request from VPCOK regarding their device and how it had failed, they offered to replace or refund. I had not requested a refund initially because I thought the warranty period had expired. They subsequently reimbursed me for the original purchase- no hassle. So if it does not start to work again or does eventually completely fail, contact the company-it seems that they are committed to satisfied customers

Question: I’ve read the reviews. is this a usa model. what are the warranty and return policies
Answer: Diameter = 2.35 in. I use a Coleman Party Stacker 24 ice chest for the container. I cut a 2.5" hole in the corner of the removable lid with a hole saw and hand drill. I turned the clamp that comes with the circulator upside down when using the ice chest to allow a stable mount for the circulator. Most of the time for small and short cook jobs such as a single steak I use an open 6 qt dutch oven and use the clamp to hold the circulator to the side of the pot. It works without a lid, that way very well.
Question: Can it be turned on and off manually
Answer: Ziploc bags work fine. They're 100% polyethylene and inert. No one's found evidence of plasticizers leeching into anything. Definitely buy the freezer bags, and not the ones with the mechanical slider. Get the plain old freezer bags. They work reliably up to 80°C or so. Above this temperature, I double-bag, because the plastic gets soft and the zip seal gets weak. If nothing leaks, the outer bag can be reused. The plastic gets its strength back when it cools.
