Answer:	I can't say with certainty (yet) because I cooked 6 the first time around (and they were all perfect). But if the cooking time is determined as I think it is...by the amount of water per egg as noted on the water cup, the only variant should be how long it takes to boil the water out before the timer goes off. I would expect the same results with 1 egg as for 6.

Question:	It looks like you put more water in for one egg and the least amount of water for 7? This doesn't make sense to me
Answer:	You're correct— it doesn't make sense. I believe you're referring to the measurements on the included cup. I have a different cooker (the SimpleTaste) with the same problem— the measurement markings were embossed incorrectly. You •do• need more water for more eggs and/or longer cooking time. For one egg, I have to use the 6&7 mark, and for two eggs, the 5 mark, etc. I still have to play with the amount of water used, but going by the cup you'd over cook one egg and undercook 7. MAYBE somewhere in between it would be right.

Answer:	The piercing tool is to prick eggs on the end when you plan to have a hard boiled egg. Some say it keeps the shell from cracking or that it helps the bottom stay round rather than flat. I don't prick mine and they are fine. I'm not making deviled eggs that have to look good. Question:	WHY do you have to poke a hole in the top of egg when hard boiling? If the egg bubbles out the hole, what's the purpose
Answer:	It's important to poke the hole into the fat end of the egg. This is because each egg has an air pocket at this end. And set the egg into the tray with the hole up so that this sulphury air can properly escape. You're venting the nasty stuff that you don't want infusing into the egg. Venting makes the eggs look great and taste great. Just remember, wide-end up.
Question:	Does this item have an automatic shut off
Answer:	Mine (the stainless steel with "No Alert" option) shuts off automatically. I've noticed that it will cut back on if left alone for several minutes, though. I guess the water drips back down from the dome and the sensor thinks it's time to cook again. Since that happened, I try to flip the switch off right after they're done.

Answer:	If you have another way to measure water in milliliters, here’s what my cup says: 5-7 soft boiled =20 ml or 4 tsp. 1-4 soft boiled=30 ml or 2 Tbsp. 5-7 medium=a shade less than 35 ml or 2 Tbsp plus 1 tsp. 1-4 medium=40 ml or 2 Tbsp plus 2 tsp 5-7 hard=almost 65 ml or 4 Tbsp plus 1 tsp 7-14 hard (great for deviled eggs)=70 ml or 4 Tbsp plus 2 tsp 1-4 hard=about 75 ml, or 5 Tbsp Omelet/poached line=40 ml, or 2 Tbsp plus 2 tsp (did not have a measurement noted, but it lines up perfectly with the 40 ml line on the front.) As an aside, a full load of 14 hard boiled eggs, cold from the fridge, turned off at 22 minutes. If you leave them too long without rinsing and cooling, the yolks overcook. This is why I wish this had an alarm sound to tell you when it’s done. 😁

Answer:	I just got mine today. My unit didn't automatically turn on until I flipped the button after putting the eggs in and plugging in. It worked perfectly. I followed the directions and after cooking the unit automatically turned off. I have this version, not the new one.
