Answer:	I used to be a barista and there is also reproductive harm warning for espresso machines due to the milk residue left on the tools used to froth the milk. We were trained to clean it very well after each use. I can’t remember why but I was trained that the milk froth left over was potentially hazardous, to pregnant women especially, so may be worth looking into the hazards regarding the frothed milk.

Answer:	This dehydrator only goes to 160 °F. USDA says poultry needs to be taken to 165 °F to kill the bacteria. From USDA"Why is it a food safety concern to dry meat without first heating it to 160 °F? The danger in dehydrating meat and poultry without cooking it to a safe temperature first is that the appliance will not heat the meat to 160 °F and poultry to 165 °F — temperatures at which bacteria are destroyed — before the dehydrating process. After drying, bacteria become much more heat resistant."

Answer:	It makes a nice background white noise that you could use to help you fall asleep. If you want to set it on the kitchen table between yourself and someone else you're trying to have a conversation with, it is too loud for that. I don't think it was your food dehydrator that drove you nuts. ;)

Answer:	Chives are small enough to dry whole then cut to size with a kitchen scissor. Also, there are silicone mesh tray inserts that can be cut to fit. I bought some for my trays and love them. Mine are about 1/2 inch too big for my trays but the mesh is so flexable that the extra fabric goes up the sides a little, which means I can spread food all the way th the edges without small bits going under the mesh.
Question:	Can you flip the drying racks upside down to get taller or is it only one way

Answer:	I can't see why not. They're pretty easy to twist, bend, unwind, etc. Would think they'd be reasonable to cut

Answer:	I love these!! I have an "Egg" BBQ I use them in a firestarter( "Chimney) Bought on Amazon (looks like a coffee can with a handle. I put some charcoal in then separate a fire starter in a few pieces, put them in add more charcoal then a few more pieces, and then stick a few pieces around the top. Lighting them as I go. You will have a perfect fire in about 20-25 minutes. empty the chimney into the BBQ spread them around add the grill top and put on the steaks!!

Question:	One manual says to cook poultry and marinate beef. i'm making dog treats. do i need to do that before i dehydrate it
Answer:	Poultry must reach an internal temperature of 165F to kill any possible viruses. Beef is marinated for 2 reasons; impart flavor and act as a preservative.

Answer:	By or borrow a book on dehydrators. I am just starting out so I only have experience with apples and bananas so far. Many fruits require that you spray them first with Lemon Juice and water. I have made Beef Jerky a couple of times with success. I just marinate it ("Baby Rays" and a touch of booze) . I just throw the strips on, crank it up to max and keep an eyeball on it.. If doing multiple trays, I switch bottom to top as the jerky stiffens so the bottom won;t get overcooked.

Answer:	I just purchased this in July of 2017, and the lowest temp is 105F. There is a little room between the off position and 105, but not sure if that will result in a lower temp or not.
Question:	how many pounds of jerky meat will it hold at one time

Question:	Do you find that your electricity bill goes up significantly while using this dehydrator
Answer:	Hi Melinda, that is some really hard questions to answer because it really depends on how thick your pieces are on any thing you put in it. Some things also have more density to them (less air space) so they take longer than something light. But it takes between 12-20 hours for anything you dehydrate. Some foods I found are better not to dehydrate. Vegetables work great if your going to make a soup or stew, but to just rehydrate say broccoli and cook just it, for me it's tough and chewy but cooked in a big pot of soup with other dehydrated veggies works fine. I have never done meat in mine and don't plan to so someone else would need to discuss that with you. I hear that jerky does great. On u tube there are videos of people dehydrateing just about everything and tell you how long and all. That is what influenced me to buy 2 of them.
