Answer:	This unit does not have a temperature gauge. It has multiple presets as follows: 104, 113, 122, 131, 140, 149 and 158 degrees Fahrenheit.

Answer:	The recipe book calls for ground beef to make the jerky. Once you mix it together you pack it in the gun and squeeze it. The ground beef comes out a slit in the end. It helps you get uniform pieces so you don't have some done and some not done.

Answer:	I find this question and the answers very humorous since the product comparisons list the material as aluminum. Should't Amazon remove the product for false advertisement then?

Answer:	Chrome are included. You can upgrade to stainless as an option. I use parchment paper to line my chrome trays for both jerky and fruit. My trays are spotless.
Question:	do I need to rotate the trays
Answer:	when you email LEM and ask why 5 trays of jery are done and 5 are still wet, they will tell you that you need to rotate trays and shuffle them. SO not only do trays 6,7,8,9,10 now go in 1,2,3,4,5... you also must rotate the fronts to the rears for perfectly even drys. Lem is working on a new patent design that guarantees 100% set and forget.
Question:	I noticed that lem only offers a 2 year warranty were excalibur products come with a 10 year warranty. sounds like they might not be durable
Answer:	Our LEM had a fuse go out very soon after we purchased it but we were able to fix it without a spendy bill. Yesterday we used our dehydrator to make venison jerky but ended up having to finish it in the oven. The heating unit now has a problem. I have used our dehydrator but it certainly not due to overuse. I use it occasionally...probably not more than twice a year.

Answer:	I have never noticed a plastic smell when using and I cook my jerky on high... I washed the trays before I used them and gave the interior a wipe down before my first use. Hope this helps. I love mine!

Answer:	I slice organic chicken breast and put a slice of banana, my dog loves it. Chicken hearts, $160, about 80 pieces, nice treat and cheap!!!! I was in petco and baught a dried chicken foot for a dollar so I baught a package of chicken feet at the grocery store for $1.79 and got 27 feet, I brush honey on them and my dog loves them. Answer:	If I understand your question correctly, the answer is "yes". A sharp pair of scissors would be my tool of choice.
Question:	How do you get the smell out? Have tried soaking in 3 different solutions: soapy water, a mixture of vinegar and water, and baking soda and water
Answer:	I don't know what smell you are trying to remove, but other than what you have already tried...i suggest lemon and salt. Scrub, and soak, then rinse. Hope that works!

Answer:	These are flat sheets with no lip. If the sauce is thick, you could try putting chopsticks or small dowels under the edges to give it a slight lift at the edges.
