Answer:	My son dried canned chicken for hiking/camping, and it turned out great. Also, he did sauces on the solid trays for meals when camping/hiking. Myself, I've done venison and spam. For raw pork and chicken, I'd think you'd want to use a ''cure'' to preserve it better, but I'm not sure on that. Do a google search.

I was in petco and baught a dried chicken foot for a dollar so I baught a package of chicken feet at the grocery store for $1.79 and got 27 feet, I brush honey on them and my dog loves them. Tips on making jerky

Your meat should be as lean as possible. Using lean meat will help the meat dry faster and aid in cleanup by decreasing fat drippings. Ground beef should be 80% to 90% lean. Ground turkey, venison, buffalo and elk are other excellent choices for jerky.

Your jerky gun has NESCO/American Harvest seasonings included and are available commercially for all tastes. Whenever you make jerky, be sure to use the cure (sodium nitrite). The cure is used to help prevent botulism during drying at low temperatures.

Keep meat and poultry refrigerated at 40°F (5°C) or slightly below; use or freeze ground beef and poultry within 2 days; whole red meats, within 3 to 5 days. Defrost frozen meat in the refrigerator, not on the kitchen counter.

Special considerations must be made when using venison or other wild game, since it can become heavily contaminated during field dressing. Venison is often held at temperatures that could potentially allow bacteria to grow, such as when it is being transported. Refer to the USDA Meat and Poultry Department for further questions or information on meat and food safety.

Dry meat at 160°F (71C) until desired doneness. Drying times may vary based on many circumstances including but not limited to: the relative humidity of the room, the temperature of the meat at beginning of drying process, the amount of meat in the dehydrator, leanness of meat, etc. Always allow jerky to cool before taste testing.

Answer:	No they do not connect together. Each barrel can hold approx. 2.7 lbs. I make 10 pounds of ground beef jerky or more at a time, so packing each barrel really saves a lot of time.

Answer:	I find it not a 'breeze' to clean or even sorta ok to clean. I notice they don't show any images of the unit disassembled for cleaning. If they did it would mean showing how that once you unscrew the visible end of the piston/pipe (pipe touching the meat is aluminum by the way--NOT stainless) then yes easy to clean the plastic part and the two metal disks. But it's the area up by the handle--where the pipe recedes into when pipe is full of meat. This area becomes NASTY since it's nestled up inside the handle portion and the only way to get to it is to disassemble the entire handle--or face bits of rotten meat the next time you use it. On youtube there's a how-to for cleaning this jerky gun, 'though the name is LEM, and the handle works slightly different, it was surely made by the same company. In youtube search box type in " How to Disassemble LEM Jerky Gun"

Answer:	You sure can! Use the lowest setting of 95 degrees F. It comes with two herb drying trays that is plastic OR you can use parchment paper on the four stainless steel trays that come with the unit. My suggestion is to leave the herbs on the stems because small loose leaves might blow around inside the unit as the fan is fairly strong.
