Question:	Why doesn't rice cooked in this, need rinsing
Answer:	The Rapid Rice Cooker is designed to prepare instant rice which is pre-cooked, dehydrated rice, not regular rice. I have never tried rinsing instant rice (common brand name like Minute Rice) but I think it would get gummy very quickly with rinsing.

All you do is put the rice in the pot put the required amount of water and clamp the lid on and put into the microwave oven and turn it on for the allotted amount of time let sit for the rice to absorb the liquid and it is done.

Question:	Is it possible to make only half a cup of dry rice in this or do you need to put at least 1 cup in for it to function properly
Answer:	Maybe. Since the ratio of brown rice to water is about 1 cup rice: 2 cup water the volume of pot is maxed out prior to cooking. Water and brown rice is full to the top. If you cook more than 1 cup brown rice you should get a larger capacity cooker. The measuring cup supplied with the cooker is 6 ounces full, rather than standard US 8 ounce cup of measurement.

Answer:	The insert measures 6" across by 2 1/2 deep, Total dimensions of the cooker is 8 1/2 tall by 5 1/2 across. This is a mini rice cooker enough for 2 cups of rice for two. I like it because I do not have any left over rice.

Answer:	Sticky mess? You must rinse the dry rice in water, until the water is clear. This removes the starchy powder which causes your cooked rice problem. —Buy the correct type of rice for your needs. Be aware of the labels on the packaging. Medium grain rice is ‘sticky rice’ like in sushi. Long grain rice is the soft fluffy kind.

Question:	Can it cook brown rice
Answer:	The vegetable tray is 6.5" diameter and 1.75" deep. I don't know how big baby carrot bags are.

Answer:	I have this rice cooker and what always works for me is unplugging it as soon as it is done and letting it sit for about 10 minutes, letting it cool off a bit, it comes out clean without using any oil, grease, or butter. I find that if I try to take it out right away the rice has extra moisture on it and sticks to the pot and if it is still warming it will start to burn the rice so unplugging it is best. I do rise the rice once before putting it in just to rinse off any residue. For jasmine rice 1 1/4 cup water for 1 cup of rice, for brown rice 2 1/4 cups of water for 1 cup of rice.

Question:	I read it has preset cook times. How long would two cups of rice take? Im.on the fence
Answer:	The slow cooker function is high and runs around 165+ F. The "keep warm" function is low and is 145ish F degrees.

Answer:	Hi Judy - Yes this does have a beeper. When the rice is done it beeps on and off for about 5-6 seconds and automatically switches to keep warm. Once you're done you can press the power button and it toggles off so no need to unplug.
Question:	Does the lid lock while the food is cooking, or can you add new ingredients/spices halfway through
Answer:	You do not want the lid to be removable because that would require an extra (third) hand for operating the devise; and a clean and safe place to set down a removed lid. It is sufficient for the pot alone (and steamer tray) to be removable.
Question:	Can you cook noodles in it
Answer:	I have the 8-cup one and the brown rice setting cooks quinoa perfectly! You have to soak it first (minimum 6 hours) but it comes out fully cooked, light and fluffy! I just purchased the larger 20-cup cooker (the 8-cup doesn't hold enough veggies for me) and am sure the brown rice setting on the larger cooker will make quinoa perfectly as well.

Question:	What is the minimum amount,can it cook just one cup of rice (two cooked) ? I like the larger steamer size
Answer:	Yes, one cup of rice is fine. We might be able to cook only half of a cup but honestly I never tried it my self. The other answers are pretty much accurate. We can cook up to 6 cups and the quality is great, especially for the price. Whenever it's done cooking, make sure you either keep using the "keep warm" feature or just stir the rice up at the beginning so it wont' stick to the bottom and surrounding area of the cooking container. Enjoy!
Question:	Has anyone had a problem with the cooked rice getting dry after just a couple hours on "Keep Warm"? And if so, how did you deal with this problem
Answer:	I would suggest only using that feature for less than an hour. Frankly we used a rice cooker without that feature and we remove the cooking bucket from the unit as soon as possible and simply allow the heat of the metal keep the rice warm.The problem should be obvious to you. to keep ANYTHING warm means you are going to evaporate water from it, right? Next, if you try to add a little water, which you pretty much HAVE to do to keep it moist, means that the rice is absorbing water after the cook, and is becoming softer.It's a neat gimmick feature, but I wouldn't use it. I'd simply cook the rice closer to when I'm going to eat.
Question:	Recently lot of steam coming out of the hole in the lid, cooker surroundings becoming very messy. Any ideas how to address this issue? Thanks
Answer:	lots of steam does come out of the steam hole and it is supposed to do that. It does make a mess so we drape a thin tea towel - not folded over - across the top of the steamer and over the hole. While the towel does get damp, the mess is contained. The thinnest of the towel still allows for the steam to escape while keeping the surroundings relatively dry. Hope that helps.

Answer:	@M. Shahsavar, How long do you boil the water? 10 minutes? I assume in the hottest setting? then drain? How much water do you add back in? What temp do we turn on the cooker back on at? 40 minutes setting? I've had a Pars cooker for years and I find it hard to get good details for cooking because all of my Persian friends tell me that they do it and don't think about it. Answer:	Yes absolutely. The best tag chin ever is made . When all the water is gone from rice , invert all the rice to a colander . Do not disturb the dice with spoon trying to scoop up you will break rice and make it mooshy. Take few spoon ful needed to make your tag dig and proceed as the traditional way of making tag chin. What ever you do do not scoops or spoon out the rice or else you end up with mooshy rice. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions .

Answer:	Hi, I have a similar microwave rice cooker, with a base about 5 1/2in wide, and found the easiest way to deal with the 'water boiling over' is place a large glass pie plate (at least 2in deep, I use a Pyrex Glass 9.5in pie plate or a similar (plate, round or square, glass is BEST to me, of course microwable, AND larger in diameter than your microwave rice cooker) underneath while it's cooking to the finish. Yes, it's another item to wash, but it's well worth it! I hope this helps!
