I often buy pork tenderloin without any plan for how to cook it, but recently I wanted to turn it into this takeout-inspired meal. The recipe uses just a few simple ingredients you should have in the pantry. Use a store-bought teriyaki sauce or make your own. Either way, in less than 30 minutes, you will have a dinner on the table that the whole family will love.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Put the rice and water in the pot and stir to combine. Assemble the Pressure Lid, making sure the pressure release valve is in the Seal position. Select Pressure and set to High. Set the time to 2 minutes, then select Start/Stop to begin.

2. Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, toss the broccoli with the olive oil. Season with the salt and black pepper. In a medium mixing bowl, toss the pork with the teriyaki sauce until well coated.

3. When pressure cooking the rice is complete, release the pressure by moving the release valve to the Vent position. Remove the lid when the pressure has finished releasing.

4. Place the Reversible Rack inside the pot over the rice, making sure the rack is in the higher position. Spray the rack with cooking spray. Place the pork pieces on the rack. Arrange the broccoli around the pork.

5. Close the Crisping Lid. Select Broil and set the time to 12 minutes. Press Start/Stop to begin.

6. After cooking is complete, check for your desired crispiness and remove the rack from the pot. Serve the pork and broccoli over the rice, garnished with sesame seeds.

Answer:	No approval from the USDA. But they don't actually formally approve canners. They list specifications that a canner must have and the Max fails two of those. It has neither a pressure dial gauge or a continuously venting weighted gauge and does not meet the USDA size specification.

Answer:	A bit of research was done on this. Here's an openly available study : https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0208769 Instant Pot has a fluff piece about it on their web site as well. I've also noticed that sterilizing in an Instant Pot is popular with YouTube Biohackers / Brewers for preparing their growth mediums. I use my Instant Pot (a cheaper model with less options) to prep Bell jars used for kombucha, ginger beer, prepping/'waking up' my beer yeasts, etc. The lab standard for sterilizing that is referenced in that linked journal is 121 degrees Celsius at 15psi for 30 minutes or more, and this unit is capable of meeting those standards.

Answer:	No, and in all likely hood, it will never be. Why? It is too small. All of the tested recipes from the USDA and the NCFHP use larger capacity canners. They state that a canner must be able to hold 4 one quart jars upright. Size matters due to the fact that heat up and cool down times are factored into the tested recipes. Now if Instant Pot can show that the heat up and cool down times are adequate maybe it will be approved. Not holding my breath.

Answer:	I have the 6 quart model, and the cord that came with it is, near as I can tell, the exact same type of cord that comes with every desktop computer power supply . The female end (that plugs into the cooker) has three openings, in a very similar configuration to a standard electrical outlet (just different enough that you can't goof and actually plug something into it). There's no transformer or anything that's part of the cord. Just a heavy black power cord.
