Question:	Can it cook brown rice
Answer:	The vegetable tray is 6.5" diameter and 1.75" deep. I don't know how big baby carrot bags are.

Answer:	I have this rice cooker and what always works for me is unplugging it as soon as it is done and letting it sit for about 10 minutes, letting it cool off a bit, it comes out clean without using any oil, grease, or butter. I find that if I try to take it out right away the rice has extra moisture on it and sticks to the pot and if it is still warming it will start to burn the rice so unplugging it is best. I do rise the rice once before putting it in just to rinse off any residue. For jasmine rice 1 1/4 cup water for 1 cup of rice, for brown rice 2 1/4 cups of water for 1 cup of rice.
Question:	No matter what i do (trying different amounts of water) i end up with a sticky mess. i live in colorado, could that be the problem

Answer:	Maybe. Since the ratio of brown rice to water is about 1 cup rice: 2 cup water the volume of pot is maxed out prior to cooking. Water and brown rice is full to the top. If you cook more than 1 cup brown rice you should get a larger capacity cooker. The measuring cup supplied with the cooker is 6 ounces full, rather than standard US 8 ounce cup of measurement.

Answer:	The insert measures 6" across by 2 1/2 deep, Total dimensions of the cooker is 8 1/2 tall by 5 1/2 across. This is a mini rice cooker enough for 2 cups of rice for two. I like it because I do not have any left over rice.

Answer:	Sticky mess? You must rinse the dry rice in water, until the water is clear. This removes the starchy powder which causes your cooked rice problem. —Buy the correct type of rice for your needs. Be aware of the labels on the packaging. Medium grain rice is ‘sticky rice’ like in sushi. Long grain rice is the soft fluffy kind.

Answer:	This is the small version. It cooks at most 1 cup of rice. It has no steamer insert unless I threw it out with the box. The full size version which I also own came with a aluminum steamer insert. Just a simple pierced rack that sits about 1/2 inch above bottom.
Question:	Does anyone know what is the differences between Neuro Fuzzy and Mitcom Zojirushi rice cooker? Which one is better? Thanks
Answer:	You ask an important question. Yes the removable metal liner is coated but not with Teflon, or not with anything that resembles, other than in color, any type of Teflon product that I can used. The coating is more like a paint that has been baked on. While thin, it does a fine job of preventing the rice from sticking to the inside of the liner.Note - the liner is durable but it's made of thin aluminum and can be bent if a user fails to use a bit of love when using and cleaning it. Also, don't use anything harsh or abrasive when cleaning the inside of the liner. Just put it in water just as soon as the rice is removed and cleaning is a simple matter. My unit is just outstanding. The glass lid is a perfect fit. The unit has a small footprint and over all, is well made.Another note - the lid has a small vent hole. As steam xscapes while cooking water can trip down the side of the unit and onto the table, not a lot, but that can happen. To completely avoid that, simply price a paper towel, folded in quarters, on top of the hole and end of problem. Also, don't use the maximum levels of water lies as indicated on the measuring cup. That's too much for the unit. Start with less than half measure of water/rice and work your way up to determine your portion size.The ONLY grip I have with it is when it stops cooking, the heating unit will never completely shut down. When the light changes color, you must allow it to sit for a few minutes to finish cooking the rice. I get that. But I still have to stay alert and remember that after a few minutes I still must go over and unplug it from the wall in order to achieve a completely shut down unit. Otherwise at some point the rice will become something hard and dried out (just like my ex-wife's heart).Other than that, you will not be disappointed with his purchase. Answer:	Yes it is. It says "made in japan" on the front of the rice cooker. Its the reason I choose this model over the others. So far, its an excellent rice cooker. Best one I've ever owned. I find the 10 cup size works better than the 5 cup as sometimes you want to cook extra and refrigerate it for fried rice. Get this cooker, you won't be sorry.
Question:	Can you make porridge (rice congee) in this newer version? Old version has porridge setting, but new one replaced with steel cut oats setting
Answer:	Yes. We have a very similar model, slightly earlier; we've replaced the liner pan once, after someone used a fork to serve up their rice, but now even with strong admonishments to the household, it's been peeling again for a couple of years... and we can no longer get a replacement. I don't know why Zo doesn't make a household-level stainless liner model.
Question:	I understand that these cups are actually equivalent to about 3/4 American cups.How much cooked rice does this make if filled it to the 2 cup line
Answer:	I cook brown rice mixed with 25% wild rice at the setting of "Brown Rice." The mixture cooks well with 150% of water without presoaking, but it takes 110 min. When time is short, I use a pressure cooker; it takes about 30 min. When I was a child, I used to eat barley at every meal, but I don't know how to cook. I will ask around. We always ate buckwheat in as noodles. I have just bought a bag of quinoa. I will find an answer in a month.

Answer:	This model, the NS-ZCC10/NS-ZCC18, is the only one I've found labeled "Neuro Fuzzy" and is made in Japan, while the comparable Micom Fuzzy Logic NS-TSC10/NS-TSC18 is made in China. Two differences are that on the ZCC there are cool touch handles to pull out the pot and the steam vent is easier to clean. I have read in another answer related to the NS-ZCC10 5.5 cup model that the Neuro Fuzzy models have 2 extra sensors to also check room and lid temperatures, while the cheaper TSC units just have a sensor on the center post the pot sits on. I also suspect the margins on the China made Micom Fuzzy Logic TSC models are good, and Zojirushi doesn't want to upset those sales by touting the spherical heating element or extra sensors on the Neuro Fuzzy ZCC too hard. I ended up ordering ZCC and would recommend spending the extra $20 over the TSC for it.

Answer:	U.S 120 volt plug only. If you what to use in UK used the plug adapter it will burn out the unit. You do need the step down transformer from 240v to 120v with 5 amp. Search Amazon I find this "BESTEK Universal Travel Adapter 220V to 110V Voltage Converter with 6A 4-Port USB Charging and UK/AU/US/EU Worldwide Plug ". I am not working for Bestek just try to help.

Answer:	Had since 2016, and 1 small scratch on bottom, but the rim is more scratched. Not sure how that happened as we normally also are careful in what we use to wash and use rice scrapper.

Answer:	No, but you can connect it to a timer. Briefly turn on the power, press one of the rice cooking buttons, and turn the power off again. When your timer turns on the power again, the rice will cook as expected.

Answer:	The slow cooker function is high and runs around 165+ F. The "keep warm" function is low and is 145ish F degrees.

Answer:	Hi Judy - Yes this does have a beeper. When the rice is done it beeps on and off for about 5-6 seconds and automatically switches to keep warm. Once you're done you can press the power button and it toggles off so no need to unplug.

Answer:	You do not want the lid to be removable because that would require an extra (third) hand for operating the devise; and a clean and safe place to set down a removed lid. It is sufficient for the pot alone (and steamer tray) to be removable.
Question:	Can you cook noodles in it
Answer:	I have the 8-cup one and the brown rice setting cooks quinoa perfectly! You have to soak it first (minimum 6 hours) but it comes out fully cooked, light and fluffy! I just purchased the larger 20-cup cooker (the 8-cup doesn't hold enough veggies for me) and am sure the brown rice setting on the larger cooker will make quinoa perfectly as well.

Answer:	I have the 20-cup Hamilton Beach Rice & Hot Cereal Cooker, but looking at the pictures of the 8-cup cooker, the closure looks similar. On the 20-cup cooker, there is a button release, which allows the cooker to be locked while cooking, but can be released when the button is closed. It does not stay locked like say, a pressure cooker. You should be able to add spices half way through the cooking cycle.

Answer:	Cooking pasta in a rice cooker is easy. No draining required. First, make sure your rice cooker can handle the amount of COOKED pasta–remembering that it doubles in volume when cooked. Mostly I make about 1 cup dry, 2 cups cooked in my rice cooker OR Then, carefully add the noodles to the boiling water. If the noodles are too long to fit in the pot, just break them in half before putting them in. Let the noodles cook until they're tender, which usually takes around 5-12 minutes. When they're finished cooking, drain them in a colander and serve.
