There is a menu setting designed to cook different types of delicious rice. In order to cook rice, preheating time is extended for better absorption of water, and is cooked at a lower temperature to allow the rice to cook longer without becoming mushy.

Porridge / Cream Soup

Answer:	I only use my cooker to cook brown rice and keep it warm. I've never tried reheating rice. Except for the sounds of venting steam and occasional spoken words (" Brown rice selected", "rice is ready", ...) I don't think it makes other sounds.
