Answer:	I would say it did not smoke, but one has to follow the directions on first using it. It's to be run several times without anything in it to rid it of things that are there in the manufacturing process. There was an odor, but in following directions, there was no longer a problem.

Answer:	Interestingly enough, NO WHERE in the manual is there any address of any kind. No phone numbers, no address, no nothing!!

Answer:	I think the setting #6 takes about 3:30 minutes. It is pretty well browned on that setting. If you have it on the bagel setting, only the inside is toasted. There is also a :30 second reheat feature that heats both sides. I like to add that onto my bagel at the end to get the outside a bit warm but not toasted.

Answer:	If you use both sides and depending on the size of your knives, it could hold around a dozen average size knives. Of course, less if you have larger knives.

Answer:	The surface will the blades of most knives. If you have longer than average length knives the surface will hold them horizontally.

Answer:	It can work but you may not like it. the magnets should be strong enough to hold it in place, just don"t slide it all the way down to the handle. We have a carving knife that is about that long, and this works for us. The handle will stick up higher than the handles of the other knives but it still works well. We keep this knife in the back, so it is out of the way, and we don"t have to reach past it. This is a great knife holder. Most sanitary and durable that I could find. Strong magnets. We ordered 1, and liked it so much we ordered a second. Should last many years.

Answer:	The slots are 1.5" X 5.75". This is exactly why I bought this toaster. Every other toaster I've measured in stores have slots that are only 5.5" long and that's not long enough for the rye and whole grain bread that I buy. In my old toaster I would have to cut the toast in half and toast each half separately. This is the ONLY toaster I've found that my bread fits into without having to cut it or stuff it in. Love this toaster!

Answer:	I wipe mine down with a water-dampened cloth rag when it gets dusty. Then I wipe it with a dry rag to remove the moisture. So far, so good. But I also keep it on a section of the kitchen counter that isn't used for food prep so I never have to clean anything other than dust off of it. I imagine that if it got something on it and I had to use soap and water to clean it, there might just be a stain. I doubt that it would fall apart. I Googled "how to clean bamboo" and got articles that say to use mineral oil or beeswax, so there's that, too.
