Answer:	The outer housing is plastic but the inner is metal. This helps it stay cool to the touch.

Answer:	I placed an oven mitt on top of our toaster one day when I was cooking and all of a sudden it was in flames. The toaster had turned itself on and the slots had gone down with nothing in them. Very odd.

Answer:	Bread is top loaded. When the lever is pushed down the inside "cage" closes around the items. This allows for thicker items or thinner items. I love this toaster.

Answer:	I have only toasted 2 consecutive full toasters of bread not 4 or 5, but for 2 the results are comparable. In other words, the second batch is consistent with the first in toasting level.

Answer:	Bagel setting toasts on both sides. I usually also push defrost at the same time. The result is usually, as I like it or a little less so. If needed I push it down (using 'regular) and try to recall before it is too burned:-) Since I toast many different things in the toaster I prefer using a single setting and adjusting my toasting manually. This sometimes means a 2nd cycle/button push. NO toaster will do all the variations I use with a single setting. This one does a decent job and is cute, small, and cheap.

Answer:	Sorry, Had to toss this after a few weeks. It kept tripping the GFCI circuit which freaked out everyone. It was not grounded properly. Go for one with a grounded plug.
