The Cuisinart CJE has a motor rated @ 1000 watts, which is very powerful, however that doesn't warrant overloading it by pushing whole amounts of fruit through at once. I recommend slicing apples, pears, etc. in half at the very least, and your Cuisinart's 1000 watt motor will keep going. Use common sense, if motor bogs down due to large amount of whole apples. etc being forced down, then stop the machine, slice the fruit and put less in at a time. Do not force fruit and vegetables down, gently press down. When juicing greens such as spinach, to ensure that you are juicing it all without waste, put greens between apples or pears this will get optimum results. | Answer: | I'm not an expert on metals but I don't think this will corrode. It is cast aluminum with a hard finish like a car. Items I've had that do corrode do so pretty quickly and this one hasn't yet, even though I have let it sit in dishwater for hours. As long as we don't leave these out in the snowy streets to get covered by salt and sand, I think we'll be okay. |

| Answer: | Doesn't get all the juice from regular limes. There's to much space between the top and bottom, so I doubt it would work at all with key limes. For regular limes, I juice half a lime, just the 2nd half then put both halves in the bowl facing opposite directions and juice both. Works fantastic for lemons. |
