Question:	Do I have to worry about BPA exposure from this plastic
Answer:	For safety reason, if you did not perfectly match the indicator between body and base, it will stop working. Please check the indicators ( there is a small triangle on the body, and one at base) let us know if problem solved after matching this. Thanks!

Question:	How long it takes to boil the broth? I warmed up the broth on the stove top before I added it to the shabu pot, but it took forever to get hotter
Answer:	We've not had this problem. It seems to move to a boil in a reasonable amount of time for us. Remember, this is an electric unit, so it will not boil as fast as hot pots heated with gas flame. If you are accustomed to the gas flame style hot pot, I can see where you would think this one is slow to boil.
Question:	Does this work on 220v. we live at this moment in eu but will move us middle of next year
Answer:	Sorry, I'm clueless, but my educated guess is "no". We use 110-120 volts in US, and from traveling a lot, I have found, even with the converters you buy, items don't work right and I have fried many a hair dryer. If you are moving to the US, I would wait to buy this product .... and it works great, BTW. Maybe the company makes products designed for 220v outlets. Worth exploring

Answer:	I guess you can. I've never heard of anyone cooking rice in this type of pot. Usually the 2 parts are for 2 different broths.

Answer:	If you are using an induction cook top the pans must be magnetic. If your Cuisinart pans are solid stainless they will not work as good quality stainless is not magnetic.

Question:	Is this 220v compatable
Answer:	The small (1 liter) pot is 1000w, and 1500 W for the 1.7 Liter kettle. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an electric kettle that was more than 1500 W, so it should heat water about as fast as any cattle can. The 1 L pot at 1000 W holds less water then most kettles, and the wattage is reduced by 1/3, so it’s about the same. But If you really want superspeed then by the larger kettle, and fill it with less than a liter of water (then boom 1500 W of power on less than a liter of water). Mathematically if both kettles were full, 1500w/1.7L = 882w per liter.. 1000w/1L = 1000w per liter So the smaller one will heat your water faster because there are more watts per liter of water. Both heat water pretty fast, so I would but the smaller one for one person, and the larger pot for more than one person.
Question:	can i boil milk in this? and like make hot chocolate
Answer:	Yes, there is plastic inside the kettle. There is a part that holds the plastic handle that connects to the inside of the kettle along with a silicone washer and some metal screws. That plastic piece collects steam which will then drip into the water inside the kettle. There is also a silicone washer around the thermometer. If it's pure silicone then that wouldn't be considered plastic but it's hard to tell if it's pure silicone without any additives.
Question:	How many watts is this? it states 1500w in the description but saw the same product in a store and the box stated 1000w
Answer:	Ours rusted after 2 years of steady use. Contacted Bonavita and was told out of warranty. They also said they would sell me a kettle wholesale which is actually the same as the current Amazon price for the kettle and base. I guess the answer is NO on the rust problem. January 2020

Answer:	You can use whatever capacity Makita 18V battery you have but the 2.0 Ah capacity might not last that long before needing to be recharged. Only way to test run time is to try it out yourself. I use at least a 5 Ah battery.

Answer:	It depends on the size of some of the bamboo limbs. But I’m very pleased with this product. It handles some nice size limbs (2”-2-1/2” in diameter).

Answer:	No. The Lithium batteries hold charges for a very long time when left uncharged and unused. I have several of the Makita batteries and I've never had one run down.
